The staffing pool provides RN staffing coverage to our med/surg, neuro/ortho/peds, rehab, and cardiac units. Staffing pool nurses are exceptional nurses who easily adapt to change and can accommodate many different working environments. After one year working in the staffing pool, nurses can train to specialty units such as ICU and the ED. Staffing pool is extremely rewarding and offers a multitude of learning opportunities to enhance nursing skills and critical thinking. One year nursing experience preferred.

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
·Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
·Documents patient care given.
·Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
·Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
·Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
·Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
·Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Cardiac department has 36 beds. Patient population and diagnosis: Cardiac and CVA patients. Post op day 1-2 CABG, pacemaker patients, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, SVT, AFIB w/RVR or new a fib, acute MIs, PCI patients, Fem/Fem bypass, CEAs and more. We also do step down (IMCU) patients. Nurses are exposed to more critical patients, making it a good bridge to departments such as ED and ICU.

Clinical Educator located on the unit and follows the ECCOs program for orientation. Acuity changes from high ICU census to high IMCU census.

ED provides unscheduled outpatient services to patients whose condition requires immediate care. ED is staffed 24/7/365.ED provides meaningful work with a wide variety of tasks.There are lots of learning opportunities, a teamwork-oriented environment and plenty of excitement. Change is constant and it can often be emotionally taxing and stressful.One to two years of inpatient med/surg or critical care experience is preferred.
How youâ™ll contribute
A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
·Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
·Documents patient care given.
·Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
·Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
·Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
·Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
·Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Applicants sho d have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).

·Handle with Care- Advanced (within 90 days)
·Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
·Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
·Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
·Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year)

A Cath Lab RN assists with procedures, charting, vital signs, and procedural sedation. The Cath Lab schedules outpatients Monday-Friday and rotates call every evening and weekends to cover urgent and emergent patients. This position also cross trains to our Procedural Admission and Recovery unit (PAR). The Par unit admits and recovers patients for the Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology.

We have 12 OR procedure rooms.There are 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts depending on unit and need. Nurses use a self-scheduling process with a call rotation for weekdays and weekends.Weekend call is about 1 weekend every 6 weeks.Weekend and holiday rotations are mapped out by year.Call for a new OR nurse is typically 6 months out but may do some buddy call earlier.
