Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD); Colonoscopy; Sigmoidoscopy; Bronchoscopy; and procedures for GI Bleeds.

The new Emergency Department will be a 31-bed unit with a 4:1 ratio for acute patients, with designated behavioral health safe rooms. Our Emergency Department provides care to patients across the lifespan for all medical emergencies. We are a designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. 4A is a 12-bed unit with a 1:5-6 nurse to patient ratio. We care for post-operative patients including spine surgery, orthopedics, adult ENT, abdominal, thoracic, vascular, and urology cases. We also see general medical patients. 4A is unique in that it is a small, close-knit department, where nurses and physicians work well together to achieve our common goals. We have physical room for growth, and hope to expand our capacity as we grow our surgical services in the future!

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required

• Graduate of a Program in Professional Nursing required. Can practice as a RN Applicant per the Virginia Department of Health guidelines.

• Bachelor†degree preferred

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required

• Telemetry: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required, or obtained within six (6) months of hire

We work with the adult population performing coronary angiograms, PCI, peripheral procedures, pacemakers, and ICDs. Our Cath Lab has a low turnover rate and is staffed by experienced nurses that are ready to teach, train, and help you become a cardiac procedures nurse specialist. Qualifications:

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor's degree preferred). Additional requirements include:

· American Heart Association Basic Life Support

· Must have years (2) years hospital nursing experience in acute care, ICU and/or Emergency Department required.

· American Heart Association ACLS within 3 months of hire

· Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification

· (ENPC) Emergency Nurse Association required, or within six (6) months of hire.
