Position Summary:

The RN Nurse will provide direct patient care within the Cardiac Cath Lab and assist with patient prep and recovery. Demonstrate proficiency in performing cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary intervention, and permanent pacemaker implants. Familiar with cardiac stress testing, loop recorder implant, and venous ablation procedures. Follows standards set by CVMC, theAACN, CCI and SICP. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred.
• Must have an active Arizona or Compact RN License.
• 1 to 2 years of experience preferred.

RN performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

The Medical-Surgical Department is a 34 bed unit. The RN assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs. Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients. Develops individual nursing care plans. Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed. Evaluates patient care outcomes. Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees. Administers medications, treatments and therapies. Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care. Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition. Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.
