**Description**
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Medicine at Stony Brook University is offering a two-year fellowship to prepare general obstetrician-gynecologists to pursue a career in an academic department.
Previous Fellows have pursued educational and clinical goals in hospital-based medicine and Gynecologic Ultrasound. These fellows have successfully obtained the clinical experience and relevant credentials (i.e. AIUM certification) to find successful employment in their niche after fellowship. These two programs are fully developed, but the fellowship can be tailored to the interests and career goals of the successful applicant. Focus areas can be in a clinical niche, education, or research. The accepted applicant will be paired with a mentor to aid them in developing a curriculum and monitoring their progress. Regardless of focus area, fellows will be required to develop an education and research portfolio. Fellows will also have dedicated clinical time to master the skills needed for a general obstetrician-gynecologist. Opportunities to pursue advanced degrees, such as MPH, MBA, MHA, and MS Clinical Research, are also available in conjunction with Stony Brook University. At the end of training, fellows will have a strong foundation in their area of focus and be well positioned to launch an academic career.

Key responsibilities include:
Provide education expertise to support innovation in surgical education for students, residents, fellows, and faculty.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research studies to advance education scholarship and evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions using rigorous methods.
Publish first and co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals and present at national meetings for surgery and medical education.
Participate in both surgery and education professional organizations and journals advancing to leadership positions.
Collaborate with clinical and doctoral faculty, fellows, residents, students, and staff on education scholarship and develop as a mentor, especially for Surgical Education Research Fellows, MA and PhD students.
Along with the other education scientists, provide leadership, teaching, and educational development programs across the UCSF education continuum that include education community building scholarly activities and formal educational programs.
Participate actively as a member of the UCSF Office of Medical Education scholarship team.
Undertake professional development with members of the education research unit and the Department of Surgery.
Contribute to grant writing and proposals to secure research funding and work jointly with the Department of Surgery Vice Chair for Research.
Assist in maintaining the accreditation of the surgery skills lab, provide leadership to the Surgical Education Fellowship, and facilitate collaboration with international surgical skills training programs.
This is a 1.0 FTE position. - 70% Department of Surgery and 30% Office of Medical Education. This position is an in-person position.
Qualifications:
Must have a Doctorate. Doctorate in education preferred, or applicable fields such as psychology, sociology, organizational psychology.
Research expertise: expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods are preferred but not required. All areas of research interest and expertise are welcome. Proficiency in advanced education technologies, including surgical skills simulation, virtual/augmented reality, and artificial intelligence in education, is particularly welcome.
Demonstrated academic productivity with first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals and national presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team with other researchers, staff colleagues, and clinicians.
Familiarity with database and analytic software.
Qualified for appointment at any academic rank.
Familiar with health professions education is preferred.

This role is ideal for candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series. We are recruiting a physician who will drive our research mission while delivering exceptional clinical and surgical care to our diverse patient population.
This position offers a balance of clinical practice and a strong research focus. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic individual with a passion for securing grant-funded research that advances the field of Urogynecology. The selected candidate will lead the divisions research efforts by mentoring fellows, spearheading research initiatives, and fostering collaboration within the division to amplify our impact. To support our research goals, the division provides faculty with access to departmental statistical support, a research director, clinical research coordinators, seed funding, and a regulatory coordinator. There are extensive opportunities for collaboration with basic and translational scientists across various disciplines and departments.
The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of six board-certified URPS faculty, proud to represent a nationally recognized public university hospital and a three-year integrated fellowship with Kaiser Permanente of Orange County.
Clinical duties will include the outpatient and surgical management of patients with pelvic floor disorders. Ideal candidates will have experience in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, genitourinary fistulae, bladder pain syndrome, mesh complications, obstructed defecation, recurrent urinary tract infections, and fecal incontinence. Proficiency in office procedures such as complex urodynamic studies, diagnostic and operative cystoscopy, urethral bulking injections, intravesical botulinum toxin injections, sacral neuromodulation, and percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation is desired. Candidates should also demonstrate expertise as robotic/laparoscopic and vaginal surgeons. We are seeking individuals with a strong reputation for clinical excellence and a deep commitment to education.
Requirements include completion of a 4-year ACGME accredited OB-GYN or Urology residency and a 3 (or 2 for urology)-year accredited fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. Job Summary
The College of Education's Professional Development for Educators program invites applications for one or more part-time professional faculty positions for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Applications submitted to this recruitment pool are reviewed on an as needed basis. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available.
These positions will develop and/or deliver professional development courses and workshops for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The purpose of this position is to develop and/or deliver online training programs for the College of Education's Professional Development for Educators program. These are noncredit courses open to academic, corporate, teaching and training professionals. This position does not formally grade work or provide academic advising but will deliver and facilitate largely peer-to-peer interactions and provide formative feedback to students in various education related disciplines using Canvas/ Catalog LMS platforms.

Key Responsibilities
90% Instruction
+ Develop and facilitate non-credit courses for the Professional Development for Educators ( PDE ) unit
+ Participate in necessary training and meetings to develop, maintain, and teach appropriate technologies in OSU's learning management system (Canvas).
+ Experience teaching, training, or facilitating learning or developing curriculum in the course content area.
+ Courses are expected to promote experiential learning and success of students from varied backgrounds.
10% Other Duties as Assigned
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Education or a closely related field.
What We Would Like You to Have
+ Master's degree in Education or a closely related field.
+ Experience developing and/or delivering online courses.
+ One year of experience working as an educator.
+ Advanced certifications related to techniques and standards of online learning.
+ Demonstrated ability to design, teach and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices, to the benefit of all learners.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Office space is provided in Furman Hall at OSU's Corvallis campus. However, most work can be performed remotely. Regular meetings are required in person or via video conferencing with the manager of PDE .
