The role is defined by two goals: Serve as an accounting subject matter expert in supporting new clients in best practices for setting up their accounting integration with Rundoo - either from scratch for a new business or as part of merging over a prior system. Provide product feedback on new accounting integration features. You’ll function as part of the implementation team and collaborate with our client success team as a subject matter accounting expert for client questions. We’re looking for someone who is a true subject matter expert and thrives on supporting clients in understanding and transferring accounting practices to a new system. This is a purely consultative role - scheduling, software expertise, etc. will be handled by out implementation team. About The Role
This is a fully remote, part time role. The role is defined by two goals:
- Serve as an accounting subject matter expert in supporting new clients in best practices for setting up their accounting integration with Rundoo - either from scratch for a new business or as part of merging over a prior system.
- Provide product feedback on new accounting integration features. Youll function as part of the implementation team and collaborate with our client success team as a subject matter accounting expert for client questions.

Responsibilities:
- Preparation of operational due diligence for complex transactions (i.e. acquisitions and divestitures, stock offerings, debt raises, IPOs).
- Accounting projects focused on carving out business units/subsidiaries.
- Integration with clients internal staff as a subject matter expert when it comes to operational senior accounting tasks or overall financial team support.

For certain assigned clients may process, or supervise staff in processing, payroll, client customer invoicing, accounts payable data entry and/or bill pay and ACH transactions. Performs work under a Principal's direction on other special client projects including, but not limited to: assistance with the preparation of budgets and/or financial projections; profitability analysis; cash management models; internal control and segregation of duties analysis; tax planning strategies; etc. Keeps Principals informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports, summarizing information and identifying trends for areas of responsibility. Responsible for detail tracking of hours by client and project on a daily basis. Coordinates activities of various staff in support of the above functions. + General accounting duties include various components of the month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, account and financial statement analysis
+ Preparation/examination or analysis of accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with GAAP Drive continuous improvement focusing on streamlining, improving and automating processes

Typical Requirements for consideration:

Job DescriptionThe Senior Financial and Accounting Consultant plays a critical role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for the campus. This position assists in developing revenue projections for future fiscal years and evaluating current-year financial performance across all activity types. The role is essential to ensuring financial accountability and supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Projections:
- Assist in preparing multi-year financial projections, including enrollment forecasts, analysis of the impact of strategic initiatives, and capital planning assumptions to inform the five-year financial plan. Enter approved projections into the campus budgeting tool.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Develop and deliver regular and ad-hoc financial reports to support campus leadership, track budget variances, and measure key performance indicators. Analyze financial trends and provide data-driven insights for decision-making.
Position Funding Oversight:
- Monitor and track position-level funding, ensuring accurate allocation and documentation of General Revenue Allocation (GRA) funds. Maintain records of funding changes and verify that adjustments are properly balanced.
Annual Budget Development:
- Support the annual campus budget process, including revenue estimation and entry of personnel and expense data into the budgeting system. Provide training and guidance to departments and divisional business officers. Review and validate data entry, identify year-over-year variances, and assist departments in correcting discrepancies.
Campus Collaboration & Support:
- Partner with Fiscal Services Directors and divisional staff to gather data in response to requests from the Controller's Office. Serve as resource to division business and finance leads and regarding financial data analysis, budgeting tools, and reporting.
Special Projects:
- Assist Finance Directors with high-priority projects that are complex or sensitive in nature, providing analytical support, research, and documentation as needed. Support the development of communication materials that share financial information with campus stakeholders, including presentation materials, financial summary reports, budget books, and other publications or deliverables as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, preferably in higher education
- Experience utilizing PeopleSoft Queries, Power BI Reporting, Workday, and Cognos or other similar budget management and reporting tools
- Proficient in business applications, such as MS Excel
- Ability to compile, model, and analyze large data sets and make meaningful recommendations to management/leadership
- Working knowledge of University Finance policies and procedures
- Customer focused and excellent attention to detail
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $58,960 to $83,304 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Were partnering with a client in Hopkins on a consulting need for a Senior Accounting Consultant who can roll up their sleeves, take ownership of month-end, and keep the GL running smoothly during a leadership transition. This is a newly created contract role to support the accounting team while a permanent Accounting Manager search is underway.
What youll be doing:
- Own the month-end close process with a focus on heavy account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Prepare, review, and post entries for inventory, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany, and other transactions in full compliance with GAAP.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, and subsidiary ledgersinvestigating and resolving discrepancies in partnership with other departments.
