The CAO will ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards, while providing leadership and oversight of accounting functions across a complex brokerage environment.
This executive role requires a strong understanding of the insurance brokerage industry, including revenue recognition for commission and fee income, acquisition accounting, and regulatory compliance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, external financial reporting, technical accounting, revenue recognition (commission and fee income), and accounts payable/receivable.
+ Develops and executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and financial systems and controls.
+ Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and coordinates the preparation of financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP.
+ Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all debt covenant certifications and financial statements and disclosures in accordance with Section 144a (very similar to 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks / SEC accounting).
+ Implement, oversee and maintain robust internal control frameworks, ensuring full SOX 404 compliance across a distributed and acquisitive organization, including responsibility for internal SOX team.
+ Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, especially related to contingent commissions, guaranteed supplemental commissions, overrides, and profit-sharing arrangements.
+ Collaborate with corporate development and M&A teams to support due diligence, purchase accounting (ASC 805), integration of acquired agencies, and ongoing financial reporting impacts.
+ Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage all audit and review processes.
+ Evaluate new accounting standards and changes in insurance regulatory requirements and implement changes to ensure organizational readiness and compliance.
+ Quarterly work with third-party valuation firm to estimate fair value of the Company.
+ Develop and maintain corporate accounting policies and procedures specific to brokerage operations.
+ Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing accounting team; build and maintain processes to support growth and acquisition integration.
+ Support CFO and executive leadership with strategic financial planning, variance analysis, and board reporting.
+ Present financial and accounting matters to the Audit Committee and other key stakeholders.
+ Oversee key accounting systems including updates and segregation of duties.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Master's degree or MBA a plus.
+ CPA (Certified Public Accountant) required.
+ 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role at a public company, preferably within insurance or financial services.
+ Recent experience with transitioning from private to public company ownership is a plus.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance in a global publicly traded environment.
+ Experience with revenue recognition specific to insurance brokerage (ASC 606), M&A-related accounting (ASC 805) and foreign currency accounting.

**Position Purpose:**
The Grant Payments Officer exists to process grant payment requests, cash advance requests, financial statement reports and manage federal cash drawdown accounts.
Under limited supervision/procedural control, this position provides responsible and mid-level financial management and accounting work for our moderate size department of approximately 1700 employees and over fifty (50) locations, some of which are in Greater Minnesota, in collaboration with the Director of the Office of Grant and Contract Management (OCGM). This position will assist the team lead with the advanced grants payment team in their many day-to-day duties such as grant invoice payments, federal fund drawdowns, overseeing grant cash advances, and resolving complex grant invoice payments and/or drawdowns.
While this position is part of DEED's Administrative and Financial Services division (AFS), it will be primarily focused on supporting the implementation of the new Paid Leave division.
**About the Paid Leave Division:**
Paid Leave is a new program launching in 2026. The program will provide partial wage replacement to Minnesota workers who are out of work due to a qualifying condition, such as a severe health condition that prevents them from working, or when they need time to care for a family member or a new child.
We are building a program that will be easy for every Minnesotan to use. We are engaging the people who depend on us-workers, employers, caregivers, and insurers-to learn from them and build the program around their needs. We are using modern service delivery and product practices to deliver the program.
**Key responsibilities include:**
+ Review, approve and process grant payments so that they are made timely, accurately and per state and federal (when applicable) laws and regulations.
+ Monitor and maintain sufficient cash in accounts to accommodate spending patterns of various program activities and to stay within federal and state regulations regarding excess cash on hand.

Under limited supervision, this Grant Accountant provides budget and financial analysis for Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) funds, enabling agency leadership, management, and staff to make informed financial decisions and take effective action. This position ensures the agency meets its obligations in managing federal, state, and other funds according to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Key responsibilities include reviewing and monitoring budgets, preparing and interpreting financial reports, advising agency personnel on procedures, coordinating fiscal year-end closing for assigned funds, and reconciling revenue and expenditures. Utilizing a blend of education, professional experience, and objective judgment, this position offers financial advice and recommendations on budget and fiscal policy issues.
Responsibilities include:
+ Provide budget and financial analysis for MDE and DPS funds so agency leadership/management/staff are able to make informed financial decisions and take action.
+ Support federal and non-federal grants by understanding and providing advanced professional accounting, support, consultation, management, budget monitoring, and financial analysis to divisions and programs.
+ Implement federal grant policies and procedures and provide technical assistance to DCYF divisions to ensure they meet federal and applicable state administrative and financial management requirements.
+ Under limited supervision, this position serves as the support for the Department of Public Safety (DPS) grants, providing critical financial management, budgetary oversight, and grant administration. The core purpose is to ensure federal and state funds are fully utilized and reported in strict compliance with all grant and legislative requirements.
+ Complete other tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the unit and the overall department.
**Minimum Qualifications**

Two (2) years of professional accounting or financial experience. Experience must demonstrate:
+ Expertise in federal regulations and law relating to administrative maintenance reimbursement and claiming.

+ Knowledge of federal administrative claiming methodologies and cost allocation plans.
+ Skills in analysis and comprehensive reporting.
+ Experience interpreting and analyzing fiscal data, reports, and records.
*A Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting may substitute for one (1) year of professional experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience applying accounting principles (GAAP) and practices sufficient in creation of various financial statements and reports.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret complex fiscal reports and records for adherence and conformance to federal laws, state statutes, and department policies.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel, including use of pivot tables and advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP or similar functions.
+ Communication skills that demonstrate the ability for clear and persuasive presentations to both internal and external audiences, including written and verbal skills to train other staff, answer questions, and provide accounting guidance.
+ Ability to plan, organize, and successfully manage competing priorities.
+ Knowledge of Minnesota Department of Education and/or Department of Public Safety funding streams

**Job Summary**
The Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer will be responsible for leading the accounting function for Delek US Holdings and Delek Logistics. This is a strategic leadership position focused on process improvement, leveraging technology and developing the team. This position requires a leader with strong analytical and strategic abilities who can effectively manage the accounting process and will engage frequently with the executive team and Board. The ideal candidate has a strong foundational knowledge of US GAAP and understands the SEC reporting requirements in order to effectively interface with the external reporting area. This position is responsible for maintaining and implementing accounting policy, process improvements, and system implementations/upgrades. Delek is a growth organization which requires the VP, Chief Accounting Officer to lead ongoing operational M&A activities.
The Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer will be the Finance point person that partners with business leaders ensuring that the accounting process effectively supports the current business as well as focusing on future improvements. This role will interface with a large group of finance and business leaders such as the EVP of Commercial, EVP of Logistics, EVP of IT and SVP of Supply Chain in addition to various other cross functional areas including the business units.
**Role & Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and direct the activities of a large team (>100) that could include the following teams: Corporate Accounting, Commercial/Refining/Retail Accounting, General Accounting, and Outsourced service providers
+ Ensure that the accounting process is US GAAP compliant
+ Ensure compliance with Delek's SOX 404 Controls to ensure that they are strategically managed
+ Oversee the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
+ Work with the IT Department to ensure that Finance and Accounting ERP (SAP) and trade systems are properly recording and reporting financial information.
+ Manage the development of accounting processes and procedures to create the Delek US financial statements interfacing with all requisite teams across the organization.
+ Provide assistance in reviewing all external SEC filings for accurate financial reporting of all Delek US consolidated companies
+ Work closely with the SEC external financial reporting team and external auditors to ensure a quality process during the annual audit and quarterly reviews
+ Provide assistance to all Operational Business Units in developing financial processes that provide efficient and transparent recording of all company financial transactions (this includes generation of new ideas to improve the process)
+ Provide assistance as needed to each of the Segment Operations' groups regarding all shared services activities
+ Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and retention of all staff levels
**Candidate Profile**
The successful candidate will be a strategically oriented VP, Chief Accounting Officer with a strong track record of driving change and successful business results. He/she must be comfortable operating in a very complex environment that is extremely fast-paced and must have a demonstrated ability to add value to such a business. In addition, this ideal candidate will have a continuous- improvement focus and seek ways to support the transformation of the accounting organization.
**Required Qualifications - Education, Skills & Experience:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA required.
+ Twenty (20) years of accounting experience with at least 10+ years as a leader of leaders with an organization in excess of 100 team members.
+ Energy experience required
+ Understanding of accounting processes, information drivers, control points, systems weaknesses, and a thorough understanding of GAAP accounting theory
+ Proficient knowledge of SAP accounting systems (strongly preferred)
+ Ability to build a consensus, collaborate to achieve results, identify obstacles and create a sustainable and scalable plan to overcome. Deliver on due dates with a high level of accuracy and ensure entire team follows suit
+ Strong technical acumen with a proven ability to apply accounting rules in the context of, and in support of, business decision-making
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor, develop and teach through others
+ Strong organizational agility with ability to interface at all levels of the organization
