Accounting Technology Consultant

The Accounting Technology Consultant will be joining a growing Customer Success team to ensure that our newly acquired clients are successfully onboarded onto our SaaS Accounting solution. We are looking for motivated individuals with an accounting background who are ready to transition into a consulting role. Our team consists of former accountants and CPAs who use their knowledge to help accounting teams from various industries improve their close process. If you want to put your education and experience to use in a customer success capacity and work with happy clients by adding value on a daily basis, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

This role has a requirement of working in office 3 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday). Starting in 2026, we plan to expand to 4 days per week, adding Mondays.

What You'll Do:
  • Leading client kick-off calls and giving them an overview of the FloQast implementation process and timeline
  • Reviewing clients' current close documentation and advising them on best practices within the software
  • Organizing the client close checklist into a customized Excel file (known as a "mapping document") that will form the basis for their FloQast account
  • Establishing and maintaining client relationships mainly through phone and email communication
  • Managing client progress and driving status update meetings internally
  • Tracking client adoption and driving the optimization of their FloQast account
  • Maintaining a deep comprehension of the FloQast application and functionality
  • Training domestic and international accounting teams through screenshare on how to use the FloQast software during their month-end close
  • Point person for technical product support and accounting-related questions during implementation
  • Travel will be required up to 15%.
What You'll Bring:
  • At least 2-3 years of public accounting (or equivalent) experience required
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles

The base pay range for this position is $68,000 - $106,000. This position may be eligible for a bonus plan in addition to base pay. Compensation is not limited to base salary. - The Outsourced Client Controller for the technology industry provides general advisory service to clients, via scheduled remote meetings regarding the interpretation and use of financial statements, cash-flow forecasts and budgets. - Direct point of contact for technology industry client engagements - Partners with client or Fractional CFO/Finance Directors to maintain and foster relationships within the tech-innovation industry - Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client. - Oversees client accounting team ensuring expectations are met on all client deliverables - Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients and investors - Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal team - Responsible for reviewing and finalizing accounting period close - Analyze and review financial statements, management reports, and other key performance indicators - Prepares cash-flow forecasts, budgets and assist CFO with projections and financial models - Prepares financial data for new capital raises or data rooms for due diligence, when applicable - Work with client to review and strengthen internal controls - Evaluate accounting policies and procedures to help recommend process improvements - Manage internal team's budget and work to maintain performance expectations of staff - Work on multiple projects of varying size & complexities simultaneously from pre-revenue startups to companies preparing for exit.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - 5+ years of advanced, hand on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation as an assistant controller or controller or in a similar capacity in public accounting - Experience working as a financial controller in the technology industry preferred - Experience with venture capital or private equity backed portfolio companies desired, but not required - Previous public accounting experience preferred, but not required - Minimum of 1 year supervisor experience - Proven ability to build and manage multiple relationships - Must have exceptional collaboration and communication skills - Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred but not required - Experience using Sage Intacct, Net Suite, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com preferred - Ability to prioritize and work comfortably in a fast-paced, project management work environment

- The Outsourced Client Controller for the technology industry provides general advisory service to clients, via scheduled remote meetings regarding the interpretation and use of financial statements, cash-flow forecasts and budgets. - Direct point of contact for technology industry client engagements - Partners with client or Fractional CFO/Finance Directors to maintain and foster relationships within the tech-innovation industry - Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client. - Oversees client accounting team ensuring expectations are met on all client deliverables - Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients and investors - Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal team - Responsible for reviewing and finalizing accounting period close - Analyze and review financial statements, management reports, and other key performance indicators - Prepares cash-flow forecasts, budgets and assist CFO with projections and financial models - Prepares financial data for new capital raises or data rooms for due diligence, when applicable - Work with client to review and strengthen internal controls - Evaluate accounting policies and procedures to help recommend process improvements - Manage internal team's budget and work to maintain performance expectations of staff - Work on multiple projects of varying size & complexities simultaneously from pre-revenue startups to companies preparing for exit.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - 5+ years of advanced, hand on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation as an assistant controller or controller or in a similar capacity in public accounting - Experience working as a financial controller in the technology industry preferred - Experience with venture capital or private equity backed portfolio companies desired, but not required - Previous public accounting experience preferred, but not required - Minimum of 1 year supervisor experience - Proven ability to build and manage multiple relationships - Must have exceptional collaboration and communication skills - Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred but not required - Experience using Sage Intacct, Net Suite, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com preferred - Ability to prioritize and work comfortably in a fast-paced, project management work environment
