POSITION SPECIFICS
The Residence Life Office is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the Central Staff team as Assistant Director, Student Leadership and Administration.
The Assistant Director plays a vital role in supporting the mission and vision of the department. This position reports to a Senior Assistant Director of Residence Life and is responsible for the development and implementation of ongoing training initiatives for student and professional staff.
Additional responsibilities include overseeing the administration and assessment of a three-credit student leadership course, as well as managing the recruitment and hiring processes for departmental student leadership roles. The Assistant Director will collaborate closely with residential campuses across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
This is not a live-in position and requires the successful candidate to be able to be on campus within an hour for any emergencies.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and manage the Resident Assistant (RA) selection process at the University Park campus
- Coordinate the RA change of campus process and support the RA selection processes at the Commonwealth campuses
- Oversee the implementation and assessment of a three-credit student leadership course
- Design, support, and evaluate cocurricular education training programs across campuses; conduct needs assessments and develop targeted training and support systems
- Manage and update manuals, protocols, standard operating procedures, and departmental policies
- Support the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for professional staff
- Coordinate and assess training and development programs for professional staff, including shared opportunities across campuses
- Advise the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) chapter
- Participate in the on-call rotation, as required
- Other duties as assigned

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.

POSITION SPECIFICS
The College of Agricultural Sciences seeks to hire an energetic and experienced Assistant Director of Post-Award Research Administrator in the Office for Research and Graduate Education.
The Proposal and Award Manager for Post-Award pursues, administers, and conducts sponsored programs; reviews awards for items specific to the faculty, department, and college/unit; informs faculty and college personnel of special contractual requirements; ensures compliance with university guidelines; and provides training to personnel on topics that cover the breadth of research administration.
- Oversee the post-award research administration team; oversee workflow and assign priorities; establish best practices; ensure quality service is provided to research teams, support staff, and faculty within a research area.
- Monitor deadlines, interpret sponsor guidelines, resolve complex award issues, consult faculty on non-routine award activities including subawards, multi-disciplinary awards, cost shares, and special requirements; exercise signature authority to approve and submit post-award related items.
- Develop a collaborative partnership with the research unit; engage faculty and managers to provide recommendations to improve proposal success rate and award management effectiveness.
- Serve as a liaison between the research unit and University research administration offices including Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Research Protection, Office of Technology Transfer and other central units.
- Ensure compliance with University, government, and sponsor regulations; monitor, interpret, and disseminate policy changes that impact research administration practices.
- Develop tools, forms, documentation, and operating procedures to ensure service standards are met; resolve issues and implement solutions; initiate process improvements to address systemic roadblocks.
- Contribute new research administration models, practices, and ideas to the larger University research community; participate in projects and committees with the aim of promoting the reach and impact of University research activities.
- Hire, train, mentor, and train others; provide feedback and development opportunities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in a specific research administration area; provide consultation in guidance within the unit and across the research administration community in area of expertise.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
