The key principle of an admissions counselor is to support the mission of Lipscomb University, which is to integrate Christian faith and practice with academic excellence.
Typical Duties:
- Promote and maintain a positive image of Lipscomb through the professional performance of your job.
- Responsible for recruiting freshman students from assigned regions and achieving enrollment goals in academic quality and diversity as well as building positive
relationships with friends of Lipscomb. - Assist and/or coordinate special events on and off campus, including weekends when necessary, and as assigned by the Assistant VP for Enrollment.
- Responsible for meeting recruitment goals as determined by the leadership team of undergraduate admission.
- Responsible for completing office duties including but not limited to: admissions/financial aid visits with prospective families, campus tours when needed, receiving inbound calls, and other duties.
- Responsible for providing support to Campus Visits and Enrollment Records when necessary.
- Support may include but is not limited to: admissions/financial aid visits with prospective families, campus tours when needed, receiving inbound calls, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
- Applicants must manage an assigned travel territory with the direction of the leadership team. Territory management will include: building relationships between the college and prospective students, conducting high school visits, attending college fairs, hosting events & information sessions, meeting with counselors and key leaders, meeting with alumni, and making connections.
- Applicants will also have additional responsibilities within the Office of Admission. This will include data management, budget management, scholarship programming, etc.

Admissions at The University of Tampa has an entry level Admissions Counselor position available immediately for a creative and resourceful individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to assist in the recruitment of potential students. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.

6. Represents the College at both internal and external recruitment events and supports faculty in recruiting activities.
7. Establishes relationships with faculty, staff, students, and alumni as effective partners in student recruiting.
8. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with local schools, community organizations, businesses, and civic leaders in support of student recruitment goals.
9. Collaborates with other college offices to develop messaging, strategies, and promotional materials for recruitment and develops and maintains website content for prospective students.
10. Assists in preparing comprehensive recruitment reports.
11. Serve as the career services representative for the college.
12. Actively participate in College Governance Teams.
13. Collaborate with the Student Success Center to facilitate a seamless student intake process.
14. Seek professional development directly related to the Academic Advising function and at-risk students and/or other areas of student development.
15. Provide campus tours and programs to prospective students.
16. Maintain records, both confidential and otherwise, on counseling and guidance activities as directed.
17. Assist Student Services staff in new student orientation.
18. Supervise the Welcome Center desk
19. Attends graduation ceremonies and other college functions as needed.
20. Work occasional evening and Saturday hours as directed.
21. Performs other work duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in an area related to the duties of the position; and
2. Experience in higher education recruitment/admissions, sales experience, experience in professional contact and interaction with the general public, or any equivalent combination of experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties.
3. Thorough knowledge of College programs, majors, financial aid, and admission policies, procedures, and practices.
4. Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in both written and oral forms with a variety of individuals. Excellent skills in word processing and database software are essential.
5. Strong public speaking and presentation skills
