Analyst – Advanced Analytics & Business Intelligence

TEAM  

The Media & Growth Marketing (MGM) team is focused on delivering powerful customer experiences across marketing touch points, by leveraging data and tools to bring marketing to life.  The MGM team is part of the Global Marketing Center of Excellence within Disney Experiences (DX) and plays a vital role in campaign activation.  The MGM Advanced Analytics and BI team leads consumer analytics and business intelligence for Direct Channel marketing campaigns, focused on improving targeting, messaging, and channel strategies using data-driven insights.  We accomplish these capabilities with partnerships internally within Disney, as well with external vendors and software suppliers.   

ROLE 

This Data Science and Business Intelligence-focused role on the MGM Advanced Analytics & BI team consists of the following functions: Developing analyses, predictive models, self-service end-user tools, dashboards and work flows demonstrating Machine Learning algorithms, and innovative technologies such as Snowflake, Dataiku, and Tableau. This role will also work with multi-functional partners to showcase insights while recommending applications that advance DX Marketing and Audience strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES   

Overall 

  • Develop tools that showcase insights and business intelligence using technologies such as SQL & Python, within the Dataiku, Snowflake, and Tableau environments 
    • Build predictive models on guest behavior; examples include: likelihood to purchase, likelihood to engage with a marketing message, or estimating spend 
      • Design and conduct statistical experiments (ex. A/B testing) to measure the efficiency of our audiences 
        • Mine for insights and conduct analysis of key performance indicators and trends in our first- and third-party data.  Present insights and opportunities to the MGM organization 
          • Build data pipelines that transform data into actionable operational dashboards, reports, and tools using data visualization techniques 
            • Promote products to production and maintain products in production to ensure availability in activation 
              • Leverage tools such as Jira to track and catalog work and communicate progress to direct leadership 
                • Maintain partnerships with key business partners within the MGM organization to identify opportunities to gain and implement intelligence 

                QUALIFICATIONS   

                We are looking for a foundation in applying data science modeling techniques and proper statistical testing methodology to guest behavior (resorts, cruises, theme park tickets, merchandise) and Marketing engagement. We desire someone who is comfortable researching and creating solutions. 

                • 2+ years of experience in business intelligence technologies, visualizations, best practices, and methodologies
                • 2+ years of experience using programming languages (Python or R preferred) to build predictive models and to conduct statistical testing with sound experimental design 
                • 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning algorithms and statistical methods including classification models such as logistic regression and decision trees, and segmentation models such as clustering and scoring.  
                  • Understanding of relational database methodology, data structures, data pipelines, and exploratory querying using SQL, and Python 
                  • Experience with data wrangling using SQL, Python and/or other processing methodologies 
                  • Experience translating business questions into appropriate analytical products that yield actionable results 
                    • Demonstrate proficiency with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau 
                    • Demonstrate strong relationship-building and partnering skills 
                      • Display strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate technical work to non-technical partners
                      • Demonstrate problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
                      • Demonstrate critical thinking and a strong attention to detail. 
                      • Demonstrate an exploration mentality and be willing to be a leader in learning new spaces.   
                        • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Analytics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent

Nice to Have
  • Experience with AI/ML productization.

Job Summary
Searching for a highly motivated individual to elevate and maintain our marketing analytics offering within the Advanced Analytics team at Horizon Next , a division of Horizon Media, to serve our fast-growing client base.

Prior experience working at a marketing agency or consulting firm leading marketing analytic engagements and development is required. Our clients are constantly evolving, and optimizing, we need to create smart models which help them make the best decisions possible with their marketing spend. The Director will manage a team and assist in the development of new and existing statistical models aimed to drive the maximum business results for our clients. The role will also require hands-on programming skills and model development as well as a creative mindset.

Analytic engagements can include (but are not limited to) in-market testing, campaign measurement, determining marketing effectiveness and ROI, customer journey analytics, CRM, digital analytics (website, mobile, app and social media), forecasting, financial analysis, user-level analysis. Knowledge of statistical analysis and tools like Python or SQL, familiarity with marketing platforms data and terminology is required. In addition to the technical aspects required, it will involve cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of parties including the clients, internal stakeholders (e.g. Brand and Activation), 3rd-party vendors, external clients, and operational areas within Horizon. This is a high growth and visibility role in a highly dynamic and fast paced industry.

What You'll Do/ Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a growing and diverse team
  • Create and elevate current analytics methodology, build a replicable statistical framework to rollout across multiple clients
  • Develop, train, productionalize new models to be used to media optimization and driving client business
  • Working closely with clients and account teams to assess business and marketing challenges, discuss the possible solutions, and execute a plan.
  • Oversee team modeling outputs and inputs, working with Business Intelligence and Data Engineering team to assure data processes are automated and efficient
  • Build marketing mix modeling, diminishing returns analysis and campaign test design to assess and inform client return on media investment
  • Spearhead new analytical initiatives to drive actionable insights for our clients
  • Role will report directly to the VP, Advanced Analytics with a dotted-line reporting to that client vertical.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Analytics or similar mathematical or quantitative discipline.
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in data & analytical functions in an agency/ consulting environment with at least three years of team management experience.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as Python and R, as well as database (SQL )
  • Experience with DTC and data-heavy clients is a must
  • Ability to develop proprietary statistical models, design A/B tests, execute Marketing Mix Models and multi-touch attribution algorithms
  • Ability to both get the hands dirty with data and communicate with clients on their business questions
  • Familiarity of changing landscape of ad tech within Ad Servers (DCM), DSPs (TTD, DV360), SEM
  • Managing 2-3 direct reports.
  • Media Mixed Modeling knowledge.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • 4-6 years of experience required in the Advanced Analytics realm, preferably in media or an adjacent field.
  • 2-4 years of experience managing teams required.
  • Advanced degree required or comparable knowledge of statistics and mathematics.
  • High-end marketing response modeling expertise, models which determine the Cost per Acquisition or Return on Investment of marketing expenditures.
  • Proven effectiveness in managing business relationships.
  • Experience in fast-paced environment, possessing the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Deep expertise in advertising platforms and/or the ad tech industry preferred.
  • Programming/scripting experience a must (R, Python), must have expertise in data wrangling as well as regression and machine learning functions.

Role Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Analytics Manager to lead high-impact Sales and GTM analytics initiatives as part of our Revenue Analytics team within Sales Operations. In this cross-functional, strategic role, you will partner with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Product to solve complex problems and uncover insights that shape how we go to market.

You’ll transform large, complex datasets into actionable insights and executive-ready recommendations that improve pipeline performance, resource allocation, territory coverage, customer health, and revenue outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, thinks critically, and influences strategic decisions through data. The ability to execute and communicate under pressure, forge partnerships, and drive change through data is essential to success in this role.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Revenue Analytics and collaborates closely with GTM Functional Leads, Sales Operations, Finance, IT, Product, and Customer Success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead analytics projects across pipeline health , forecasting , territory and account planning , quote-to-cash , headcount planning , and customer health

  • Translate business challenges into structured analytical questions and deliver insights that inform GTM strategy and revenue planning

  • Build and optimize scalable data models and KPI frameworks to support GTM execution and operational visibility

  • Design, develop, and maintain executive-level dashboards and insights tools using Power BI (or equivalent)

  • Write and manage robust SQL queries and data pipelines across complex systems

  • Present insights and strategic recommendations to VP+ and executive audiences across Sales, Marketing, and Revenue leadership

  • Champion self-service analytics by enabling stakeholders with training, tools, and documentation

  • Collaborate on analytics best practices, data governance, and scalable reporting processes

  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and data quality improvements across GTM operations

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on GTM data, metrics, and commercial insights

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or revenue/sales operations roles within a B2B SaaS, tech or similar environment

  • Proven success leading end-to-end analytics projects from problem framing to execution and delivery

  • Strong fluency in SQL , including building and optimizing complex queries across multiple data sources

  • Expertise in Power BI (or similar BI tools) and advanced Excel; proficiency in PowerPoint for executive storytelling

  • Demonstrated ability to build dashboards and define KPIs that drive visibility and decision-making

  • Strong data storytelling, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills

  • Exceptional prioritization, multitasking, and project management abilities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Success teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in GTM analytics , commercial strategy, or revenue operations

  • Familiarity with Salesforce , customer data platforms, or revenue intelligence tools

  • Exposure to AI/ML applications , experimentation frameworks, or statistical modeling

  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus

  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git ) for managing SQL or analytics workflows. Comparable tools also welcome

  • Experience mentoring peers or contributing to analytics process and enablement frameworks
