The Transmit Group (TG) is a critical subsystem within the U.S. Navy's sonar suite, responsible for generating and transmitting high-power acoustic signals for active sonar operations. This system enables surface ships and submarines to conduct active detection, ranging, and classification of contacts in support of navigation, anti-submarine warfare, mine avoidance, and under-ice operations. The TG integrates advanced power amplification, waveform control, and signal timing technologies to produce precise, mission-specific acoustic pulses. These pulses are transmitted through a dedicated projector array and synchronized with receive operations to ensure accurate target detection and tracking. The TG also supports auxiliary functions such as underwater communications (UQC), ice depth measurement, and special-purpose acoustic transmissions.
Key capabilities of the TG system include:
Generation of high-power, frequency-specific acoustic transmissions.
Control of pulse shaping, duration, and timing to meet mission parameters.
Integration with sonar processing systems for coordinated transmit/receive cycles.
Built-in diagnostics, system monitoring, and fault isolation to ensure operational readiness.
Compliance with Navy safety, reliability, and environmental standards.
Personnel working on the TG system will be responsible for system operation, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting at the component and rack level, and supporting test and evaluation procedures. This role requires familiarity with high-power electronics, acoustic systems, and shipboard integration practices, as well as adherence to technical documentation and quality assurance requirements. Working with Engineering, Operations Support and individuals in other departments, the Advanced Engineering Technician will support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:

- Implements and documents complex solutions for process improvement
- Designs and constructs basic tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks
- Organizes, analyzes and interprets data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommends resolution/process improvement
- An Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools

The Senior Electronics Engineer is a part of our Advanced Engineering team and will help execute designs for Milwaukee Tool's Lighting products (personal, task/area, and site lighting). You will lead the collaboration and negotiations with Marketing and Engineering teams to build and execute a market-disrupting vision.
**You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and** **responsibilities:**
+ Execute a lead role for the design, prototype, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics hardware and firmware.
+ Create new circuit designs using schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and knowledge of industry best practices.
+ Identify performance and cost tradeoffs of competing electronic design solutions.
+ Ideate, evaluate, and develop new technologies for applications. Stay ahead of industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements to ensure our systems meet or exceed industry standards and competitive benchmarks.
+ Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.
+ Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization's needs.
+ Serve as a role model for Milwaukee Tool's culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers.
+ Collaborate with mechanical engineers to incorporate cutting-edge electrical solutions into multi-disciplinary projects.
+ Partner with the Product Management team to define the Advanced Engineering project waterfall, including setting timelines, deliverables, and key milestones for electrical engineering tasks within the larger product development framework.
+ Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
+ Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee process.
**What TOOLS you'll bring with** **you:**
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in system design or related work experience.
+ Strong understanding of power management and embedded hardware and firmware implementations.
+ Experience with designing embedded systems and interfacing with microcontrollers
+ Ability to write 'C' code.
+ Strong understanding of sensor system design, test methods, controls, and architectures.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
**Other TOOLS we prefer you to** **have:**
+ Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MBA, or related field.
+ Familiarity with advanced simulation tools (MATLAB and Simulink) and design software (Altium)
+ Working knowledge of a second modern programming language such as Python or C++.
+ Knowledge in power electronics.
+ Familiarity with mid & high-power LEDs, lighting standards, and photometric testing
+ Knowledge of USB-power systems and battery charging systems is useful.
+ Familiarity with mechanical design and thermal management concepts.
+ Experience with portable electronics, power tools, or consumer electronics.
+ Knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, or IoT applications within electrical systems.
