What You’ll Do As a Consultant, you will make an important contribution to the strategy, design, and implementation of business decisions to ensure positive impact and sustainable results. You will be a strong communicator, hardworking, team-oriented, curious, creative, insightful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with imperfect or limited information. Flexibility, open-mindedness, and the ability to generate solutions for ambiguous problems are critical to success in this role. Your goal is to identify, unlock, and materialize value for our clients.

· Lead problem solving process and analytical process for complex workstreams, generating effective hypotheses and finding solutions to barriers using high quality deliverables.

· Effectively lead & coach junior analysts through the analytical process and model design/construction, including excel models and other outputs.

· Lead multiple analysts to produce deliverables & presentations, ensuring an effective production process and quality control when delegating work.

· Build good rapport with clients, communicating effectively and understanding client needs

· Support maintaining existing client network effectively

· Be able to anticipate roadblocks to problem solving and proposing solutions.

· Develop proposal for full engagement

· Handle formal communication at all levels internally.

· Create and design visual communication and storylines for several workstreams, using slides/storyline to effectively support clients’ decision-making process. · Be a champion of inclusion and diversity

What You Bring to The Role

· 3+ years of experience relevant to the role

· An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or equivalent

· Experience working with projects in mining & metals, energy, or infrastructure is preferred.

· Proven experience in using research and analysis tools

· Collaborate and actively contribute as an effective member of a team

· Strong data analytics skills, including experience with business requirements gathering, analysis and ability to translate business requirements into technical process solutions

· Ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to a broad range of project types and responsibilities

· Financial modeling experience is considered a strong asset

About the Department / Team: The Portfolio Advisory works very closely with WMI Distribution to deliver portfolio reviews and insights to the advisor community.

About the Role:

The Portfolio Advisory Specialist will provide thoughtful insights and analysis that can materially improve portfolio outcomes for Financial Advisors and Home Offices.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Consult with top advisory teams on improving their portfolio construction process by helping them create new models or improve existing models and ensuring their portfolio positioning aligns with their objectives.
• Combine quantitative portfolio analysis with qualitative insights to impactfully communicate with clients.
• Synthesize complicated portfolio analytics to provide relevant, digestible insights and actionable takeaways for clients
• Leverage IIS's proprietary investment (including capital market assumptions, macro regime analysis, investment due diligence, trends in advisor portfolios) and portfolio risk & analytic capabilities (Vision)
• Build strong relationships with your assigned distribution partners by acting as a flexible and willing partner to help them build their business
• Meet frequently with assigned distribution team (or teams) to communicate new thought leadership, analytic capabilities, and IIS investment content
• Generate ideas and feedback to continuously improve the team's client engagements and offer best-in-class consultations
• Create effective feedback loop to ensure proper client follow up and execution

Requirements for the Role:

• Relevant advance degrees from top academic institution desirable (e.g. MBA, Finance, Economics, etc.)
• 5-7 years relevant experience working closely with wealth managers in a portfolio advisory capacity
• Technical understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management
• Interest and aptitude for continued learning and practically applying portfolio construction and optimization approaches
• Highly developed communication skills and ability to synthesize and communicate complex investment concepts and ideas to investors
• Experience with MSCI Barra One or Morningstar Direct a plus
• Series 7 and 63/66 preferred
• CFA or MBA preferred

The salary range for this position in New York City is $130,000 - $140,000 / year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects at varying stages, while effectively prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred experience in consulting on enterprise software solutions, particularly within ERP or financial systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with both client teams and senior leadership, including C-level executives.
