Job Description
As an Aerospace Assembly Technician, you will be required to read and comprehend drawings, multi-level build of materials, assembly procedures, and manufacturing work instructions. You must be capable of operating material handling equipment such as overhead cranes and man lifts. Maintaining the proper storage and handling of flight hardware materials is essential, as is keeping a clean and organized work area to support manufacturing functions and routine maintenance. You will perform all tasks according to established standards and safety procedures within an AS9100 certified environment.
Responsibilities
+ Install and torque fasteners, drill, ream, and counter sink, install rivets, measure and shim interfaces to close tolerances.
+ Perform manufacturing tasks to prepare, transport, install, and certify ordnance components and separation systems.
+ Paint flight products, tooling, and furnishings, and operate sealed paint booths.
+ Install electrical harnesses, instrumentation, doors, ductwork, and other subassemblies and components.
+ Prepare, package, and transport aerospace products, subassemblies, and components within the factory and to customer sites.
+ Integrate thermal shelter and acoustic protection panels.
+ Mix, handle, and apply various bonding adhesive and epoxies.
+ Manufacture large composite sandwich structures on tooling or molds, including material preparation, hand laying composite material, trimming, vacuum bagging, curing, demolding, and weighing.
+ Complete all manufacturing paperwork throughout the production process.
+ Operate manufacturing equipment as needed, including ovens, core saws, CNC cutters, layup tables, and laser projectors.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to read and understand drawings and manufacturing work instructions.
+ Proficiency in using measurement tools such as scales, calipers, and torque wrenches.
+ Experience with mixing and applying bonding adhesives and epoxies.
+ Capability to operate shop power tools including drills, saws, routers, sanders, and other equipment.
+ Mechanical and electro-mechanical skills, including GD&T and machining.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in aerospace structural mechanics.
+ Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
+ Military or DOD experience is a plus.
+ Experience with composite fibers and prepreg materials.
+ Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a brand-new climate-controlled aerospace facility. The position primarily requires work during the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday, with some overtime after training. Initial training takes place on the day shift from 7am to 3:30pm for 2-3 months. The facility is split between two buildings, easily accessible on foot.

The pay range for this position is $8.00 - 33.00/hr.
