Venture Dynamics is looking for a Combination Pipe Fitter/Pipe Welder

Job Requirements:

Must have 6+ years of Pipe Welding, Structural Fabrication and Pipe Fitting experience.

Applicant will be required to pass multiple welding qualification tests, primarily in the 6G position, open root.
•GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW on various metals to include mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
•Experienced with fabricating both piping systems and structural hardware.
•Experienced with various metal cutting processes to include Oxygen/Acetylene, Plasma, and Carbon Arc.
•Candidate must be able to pass welding qualification test to retain employment.

Responsibilities Include:
•Fabrication of custom structures and piping systems to tight tolerances specified on engineered drawings.
•Interpret blueprints and weld call outs to fabricate hardware within drawing specifications.
•Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and oscillating man lifts.
•Communicates well with others and develop customer relations.
•Utilize Microsoft Office 365 for work package management (basic email, word, and excel).
•Candidate must pass a government background check.
•Valid VA Driver's license with good driving record to drive company vehicles.

**Description**
The Staff Civil Site Engineer will work on project teams to create world class site designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including pipelines, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing,municipal, commercial, andgovernment facilities. The Staff Civil Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting site civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, locality requirements,and/or client needs.
+ Perform/assist in civil design and calculationsfor projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
+ Modify and review drawings for a variety of projects.
+ Design civil components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers, while incorporating client, local, state, and federal regulations including, but not limited to:
+ Site Demolition
+ Erosionand Sediment Control
+ Grading
+ Drainage
+ Stormwater Quality/Quantity
+ Site Layout
+ Sanitary Sewer Layout and Design
+ Domestic and Firewater Layout and Design
+ Utility Profiles
+ Apply strong knowledge of commonly used site civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the site civil engineering services industry.
+ Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications.
+ Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
+ Perform field inspections, measurementsand/or calculations.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Mentor younger staff.
+ Comply with all company policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
+ Bachelor Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
+ Master Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
+ Strong knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques and procedures.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
+ Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
+ Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs.
+ Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
+ Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred

DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII.
Objective
The SkillBridge intern will train as a Maintenance Technician 4 within HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor with the goal of learning the maintenance actions and duties required of our Maintenance Technicians in support of the Aircraft Carrier Repair, Maintenance and the required maintainer responsibilities. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.
Desired End State (3 month target)
+ At the end of three months, the intern will be able to further develop skills needed to be presented with a problem, trouble shoot, provide recommendation or path forward to offer a solution, complete reports specific to Maintain equipment and support pier side repair work.
+ The intern will develop a good understanding of the Ships Systems and continuous maintaining to include:
+ Utilize Formal Work Procedures, schedules and complete maintenance actions
+ Troubleshooting and diagnosing shipboard systems
+ Documenting conditions found and completing condition reports
Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the SkillBridge intern's marine engineering knowledge and experience specific to Navy Ships and considers the SkillBridge internship an overall positive experience.
Assumptions/Restrictions
+ SkillBridge Intern will be eligible for Confidence Clearance.
+ SkillBridge Intern will be available during business hours of the contract supported for meetings and training.
Program of Instruction
Training Location: Newport News Shipyard, VA
Training Plan
Contract Introduction
+ Week 1: In processing, Introductions/office familiarization.
+ Week 2: Introduction to the various Shipboard equipment and upgrades as well as the applicable safety measures required for HII
Maintenance
+ Week 3: Intro to basic equipment operations, maintenance and documentation for reporting
+ Week 4: Intro to historical problems presented and solutions designed, fabricated and tested to solve the particular problem
+ Week 5: Introduction to CAT ET, setup, and operation
+ Week 6: Troubleshooting, repair and proper testing
+ Week 7: Perform routine maintenance per the Ships schedule under the supervision of senior leadership and document weekly reports for the ship
+ Week 8: Plan and execute process to service Ships systems during a lengthy Overhaul
+ Week 9: Familiarization with the process when a problem or discrepancy on one of the Ships Systems is identified and how recommendation is provided to the program office
+ Week 10: Support development with Electrical MPPS and TSME on the task
+ Week 11: Support pierside maintenance repair work orders in accordance with work package
+ Week 12: Engage with HII PM and team for each of the Ships systems performance and evaluation feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Applications accepted within final 12 months of active-duty service. Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction.
