Apply polyurethane, lacquers, epoxy paints, or dry lube coatings to aircraft components. Prepare surfaces for painting and protects surfaces from corrosion. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**

**Description**
**JOB SUMMARY:**
The plating operator will follow a plating repair outlined in a traveler to meet the customer's requirements. The plating operator must handle aircraft parts to ensure there is no damage to the parts during the plating process. The plater will have to follow the instructions in the repair to include where to mask and how to fixture the part to have a successful outcome of the plating process. The plater will first inspect the part to make sure it is ready for the plating process, and they will complete a final inspection after the plating process verifying that it meets the requirements outlined in the traveler. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Careful handling of all components and parts to guard against damage or loss.
* Obtain general Plating Masking knowledge through Able Engineering Training Modules, on the job training, and SOPM manual.
* Read, comprehend, and navigate through Work Instructions.
* Develop an understanding on how to navigate through FileMaker to include, clocking in on a job, moving a job to the next operation, and logging a job in and out of the oven.
* Safely work with various hand tools (exacto knife) to mask and de-mask aircraft parts.
* To successfully blast parts using the plastic media and aluminum oxide blast cabinets.
* Performs a visual inspection on the part to determine whether the part needs additional preparation prior to the masking step. Will ask a senior operator or lead for advice before continuing, if unsure whether or not the part should move to the next step.
* Work with chemistry and equipment to facilitate the plating process.
* Adhere to all safety practices.

* Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. **EXPERIENCE:**

As a **Project Engineer II** on our **Engine Controls** team, you'll play an important role in supporting in-service products across both commercial and defense platforms. Your work will focus on Engine Control Systems, Air and Thermal Valves, and Air Turbine Start Systems (ATSS), technologies that are essential to aircraft performance and reliability.
**What You'll Do:**
You'll be a key contributor throughout the entire in-service product lifecycle, including:
- Production support
- Value engineering
- Internal review boards
- Supplier readiness and technical support
You'll work within a small, focused team aligned to a specific value stream, which may include:
- Factory support (revenue enablement, yield improvement)
- Customer engineering investigations (e.g., Notice of Escape evaluations, performance analysis)
- Supplier enablement (transitions, obsolescence, alternative materials)
**LOCATION:** Tempe, Arizona on a Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days work from home).

- Serve as design authority for Tempe (ATSS and Valve) parts
- Support project execution and performance tracking
- Assist with risk identification and mitigation
- Communicate technical details with internal and external customers
- Prepare and review technical documentation (test plans, procedures, reports)
- Analyze test data and assess compliance with requirements
- Interpret design drawings and regulatory standards
- Support proposal development with resource and schedule estimates
**YOU MUST HAVE:**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- 2+ years of applied engineering experience.
