Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. To help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking a Level I Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to support design, integration, testing, flight test, and maintenance of carrier aircraft mechanical and structural systems. This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for those who thrive in fast-paced, team-driven environments. Our ideal candidate is not only technically sound, but also competitive by nature, someone who has demonstrated leadership and initiative in student engineering competitions ( _e.g., Formula SAE, Design Build Fly, Rocket or Robotics teams_ ). You will own your design from concept through build and test and will be expected to collaborate across teams to ensure mission success. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES** + Own the design, build, and component level testing of mechanical and/or structural systems and hardware + Contribute to a high-performing engineering team with a mindset of competition, urgency, and continuous improvement + Apply knowledge gained from participation in competitive student engineering teams or hands-on prototyping/fabrication projects + Take initiative in solving open-ended engineering challenges with limited oversight + Perform calculations and basic analysis of mechanical components and/or assemblies + Spec and order hardware, as required, to fabricate your designs + Create component and assembly drawings for all hardware + Assist mechanics in integrating all components and assemblies onto the vehicle + Test components and/or assemblies to prepare for integrated ground testing + Develop engineering tools, as needed, to complete their tasking + Regular and comprehensive communication to the Roc Chief Engineer + Mission Control Center console and Flight Test responsibilities are expected + Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments **QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. As an Aerospace Production Training Coordinator , you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and tracking training programs at a strategic local level. You will be responsible for enhancing existing training programs and developing innovative training techniques to ensure world-class training standards.

In this role you will work on-site at our Mojave, CA facility and report directly to the Operations Learning Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Support training objectives of Aerospace Learning, company sites, and employees as requested.
  • Program Development: Improve the current onboarding and on-the-job training programs to streamline processes and reduce the time from initial contact to effective production levels.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a spirit of cooperation and support within the training team and with the departments it supports.
  • Training Coordination: Complete training and onboarding plans by coordinating with peers to achieve work results, establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, and report training program results routinely.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain quality service by establishing and upholding organizational standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the safe use of equipment and resources and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Performance Support: Assist production areas in resolving process and employee performance issues through training and education by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.
  • Professional Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions, reviewing professional publications, and benchmarking best practices in training and onboarding to lead in the integration of new processes.
  • Assist in site audit process.
  • Special Projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • One (1) year or more previous Aerospace Production / Industrial Environment experience required.
  • Positive attitude and ability to remain flexible and easily adapt to changing situation is a must.
  • Previous Training experience is a plus but not required.

The Aircraft Maintenance and Systems Technician will be responsible for fabrication, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and modifications on the carrier aircraft airframe and systems. As Stratolaunch expands our program base this person may be tasked to other, new projects and in the development of vehicles requiring the skills, knowledge and abilities utilized on this current project.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fabrication, installation, testing and maintenance of carrier aircraft systems and components including:

  • Fuel systems and components

  • Hydraulic systems and components

  • Pneumatic systems and components

  • Electrical systems and components

  • Engine systems and components

  • Airframe and aircraft structures

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance operations on aircraft to include inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting activities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems, components, and structures to identify any issues or potential problems

  • Identify and resolve mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from pilot or crew

  • Perform all line maintenance functions to include preflight, post flight, launch, and recovery of aircraft

  • Ensure proper and timely entry of maintenance performed in the Aircraft Maintenance Discrepancy Log (MDL)

  • Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment

  • Maintain carrier aircraft in accordance with work instructions, the inspection plan and adhere to established standards such as AC 43-13, technical manuals, blueprints, or sketches for acceptable systems installation methods, techniques, and practices

  • Operate related ground handling equipment utilized to service the aircraft

  • Able to work in confined spaces or heights greater than 25 feet as required

  • Able to effectively communicate and partner with Engineering

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years' experience in aircraft systems troubleshooting, fabrication, installation and maintenance preferred, Including multiple of the following:

  • Fuel systems and components

  • Hydraulic systems and components

  • Pneumatic systems and components

  • Electrical systems and components

  • Engine systems and components

  • Airframe and aircraft structures

  • Experience with line maintenance functions to include preflight, post flight, launch, and recovery of aircraft

  • Experience maintaining, replacing, or modifying large aircraft structure or sub-systems such as Sheetmetal experience; bending, riveting, fasteners, treatment of metal, or changing large LRU's & subs system components such as flight control systems, landing gear systems, pneumatic systems, etc.

  • Strong understanding of the importance of FOD control and tool control

  • Detail oriented - strong attention to detail

  • Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently, responsible, take the initiative
