A loving family in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a Compassionate, fun and patient before and after school nanny to care for their 3 children ages 5-year-old, 7-year-old and 13-year-old children starting. Care is needed 3 days per week (flexible on which days), from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM .
Intellectual Disabilities:
Two of the children are on the Autism spectrum. 13 yr. old is sweet, mental capacity like 3-year-old. He likes to mainly hang at the house, watch his iPad which is typically sesame street, or wiggles, use his indoor swing, able to express his needs with single words. 7 yr. old is higher functioning. She has more communication skills. She likes to play in her room, loves baby shark and slime!
Responsibilities:
•Provide attentive and nurturing care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
•Provide transportation to and from school.
•Drop off and pick up children.
•Follow the family's gentle parenting approach, which includes firm boundaries and loss of privileges if misbehaving.
•Communicate openly with parents, including when they are working from home.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience caring for multiple children
- Experience working with children with Autism a plus but not required.
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to update certification before the start date).
- Warm, patient, reliable, and proactive personality.
- Comfortable following parents' preferences and maintaining a structured routine.
