Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Software Development Engineer for a contract position that can be worked 100% remotely. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: We are building the Credit Trader Workstation (CTW), a central platform for all Credit Trading activities. Currently, multiple systems are in place across US and Canadian desks. The goal is to simplify and integrate everything into a single, streamlined platform. Integration with DSTS is complete; the next key initiative is integrating Bloomberg TOMS, with a focus on pricing components and an upcoming build of an RFQ (Request for Quote) engine and auto-hedging system. This is a server-side, low-latency, Core Java development role. The integration work is largely complete, and we are now focused on expanding the development of new functionality. This is both a backfill and a net new role, with a significant focus on building the RFQ engine from scratch.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities :
- Core Java server-side development focused on low-latency data structures
- Work closely with the Fixed Income (FI) trading teams to understand workflows, specifically related to pricing
- Build and enhance systems dealing with Preferred Stocks, Corporate Bonds, Munis, Investment Grade products, TIPS, REITs, Money Market Funds, and Credit Trading instruments
- Develop and integrate a net new RFQ engine and auto-hedging system
- Contribute to pricing components relayed to external systems
- Day 1 contributions expected in Core Java unit testing, code pipelines, builds, and deployment processes

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of product features from backlog to support and maintenance
- Apply engineering best practices throughout all phases of a project lifecycle, including daily stand-ups, code reviews, source code management, deployment processes, and production code support
- Communicate effectively with users, engineers, and management to translate requirements into deployable software
- Actively participate in engineering meetings and cross-team mentoring activities
- Participate in an On-Call rotation for production platform support
- Negotiate trade-offs between software quality and time to market

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
I. INSTRUCTION
1. Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning, and in accordance with college loading policy, course objectives and program learning outcomes.
2. Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials in keeping with and furtherance of course objectives and program learning outcomes.
3. Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required. Manage a classroom environment conducive to student learning and in adherence to federal, state, and college safety standards and practices.
4. Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes.
5. Use Learning Management System (e.g. IvyLearn) to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment and communication.
6. Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments. Teaching will consist of face to face class and clinical instruction.
II. RETENTION AND STUDENT SUCCESS
1. Provide academic-related coaching and academic monitoring to assigned student advisees in partnership with professional academic advising staff.
2. Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester, including use of technology for academic advising alerts; provide necessary interventions to include communication with students, tutoring and other academic supports, and referrals to appropriate college resources.
3. Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours in accordance with campus expectations and the faculty loading policy in the Academic Support and Operations Manual (ASOM 7.2).
4. Promote and assist in student recruitment, retention, and successful completion of programs, including outreach to students by phone, technology tools, and other electronic means.
III. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
1. Participate in professional development activities that may include scheduled training, time spent onsite in related business and industries, and self-study to advance instructional and technical skills as well as current knowledge within the field of study.
2. Participate in scholarly activities related to the discipline/focus, in fulfillment of annual performance plans, and as required for certification and licensure.
3. Stay current in contemporary pedagogy, digital technology, and other technology related to teaching that best support student learning.
