**Job Summary:** The Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence AI Development Intern will contribute to cutting-edge AI research and development, transforming innovative ideas into practical prototypes and scalable solutions. This role combines research-oriented experimentation with production-level implementation, applying deep learning techniques across diverse industrial datasets. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate AI adoption in business processes and drive impactful solutions to complex challenges. **Essential Duties:**
**Research & Development**
+ Design, experiment, and evaluate deep learning models across varied data types such as imaging, Lidar, acoustic, and tabular datasets.
+ Translate complex research papers into implementable algorithms and novel approaches.
+ Contribute to fundamental research initiatives and support proposal development for new projects.
**Engineering & Implementation**
+ Write, test, and maintain high-quality production code using Python or C++.
+ Build prototypes and infrastructure to move ideas from concept to scalable solutions.
+ Visualize and communicate results through presentations, notebooks, and documentation.
**Collaboration & Strategy**
+ Partner with internal teams and business divisions to apply AI solutions in products and processes.

+ Publish research findings, present at conferences, and represent the company in external collaborations.
**Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:**

**Required Qualifications**
+ Master or PhD in relevant field (e.g., applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, applied statistics)
+ 10+ years of relevant working experience in AI product development within the medical devices / life sciences / digital health space, 5+ years being a people manager leading a data science team, ideally on- and offshore
+ Possesses a deep understanding of data science methodologies and concepts

The base pay for this position is $169,300.00 - $338,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
