THE ROLE:
We're looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on AI Opensource Developer Evangelist to join the AMD team. If you're passionate about AI, opensource development, and love helping the community, this is the role for you!

THE PERSON:

In this position, you'll be engaging with open-source developers, contributors, and maintainers of key AI and ML projects, helping them optimize and innovate on AMD GPUs. You'll be directly involved in making sure developers have everything they need to leverage the power of AMD for their AI workloads. We're looking for someone who's not only a great problem-solver but also someone who thrives in a community-driven environment and can communicate ideas clearly and effectively.

You'll get to roll up your sleeves, write code, contribute to projects, and help lead the charge in making AMD GPUs a go-to choice for AI and machine learning enthusiasts around the world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engage with the open-source developer community, offering support and advice on using AMD GPUs for AI/ML projects.

• Contribute to open-source AI/ML frameworks and tools, making sure they run smoothly on AMD hardware.

• Create cool content like blog posts, tutorials, and videos to show off AMD GPUs in the AI space and help others get the most out of them.

• Build strong connections with other developers and open-source maintainers, fostering a thriving community around AMD's GPU technology.

• Help troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues for developers facing challenges with AMD GPUs.

• Represent AMD at conferences, meetups, and online events to build relationships and grow the community.

• Stay on top of the latest in AI/ML and open-source tech to bring fresh ideas and opportunities to the table.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Several years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on open-source contributions, particularly in AI/ML projects.

• Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python, C++, or CUDA, and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch and JAX.

• Experience working with AI/ML workloads, particularly optimizing them for hardware like AMD GPUs (or similar).

• A solid track record of contributing to open-source projects - you love the open-source community, and it shows in your work.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

• Enthusiasm for community-building, creating content, and helping others grow.

• Great communication skills - you know how to break down tough tech into easy-to-understand concepts.
• Experience with AMD GPUs and software tools for AI/ML development a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containers in AI/ML workflows a plus.

Job Description:

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Expert supporting Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program The CMM program is an initiative to support the Administrative Office of the US Courts (AO) in developing a modern cloud-based solution to support all 204+ federal courts across the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define, document, and maintain a scalable, modular AI/ML architecture that aligns with enterprise cloud strategy and product requirements for the CMM initiative

• Architect and implement end-to-end AI/ML pipelines including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.

• Integrate MLOps best practices for continuous integration, delivery, and lifecycle management of machine learning models

• Ensure multi-tenant and multi-region AI/ML workloads are elastic, highly available, and cost-efficient

• Leverage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to provision and manage cloud-based AI/ML infrastructure in accordance with federal compliance and security standards

• Design and support reusable, secure, and performant AI/ML services and APIs to be consumed by enterprise applications

• Conduct model validation and optimization in cloud environments, ensuring responsible AI practices, fairness, and transparency

• Maintain AI/ML architecture documentation and update artifacts per sprint cycles or as changes occur

• Support the inclusion of AI/ML metrics, resource utilization, and performance KPIs in technical dashboards and reports

• Guide teams on the selection and integration of third-party ML tools, frameworks, or SaaS offerings in a secure and compliant manner

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS or Master's of Arts or Science in related field, preferred

• 15+ years of specialized experience in information systems required

• Experience may be considered in lieu of degree as follows: HS (19+ years), AA/AS (17+ years), BA/BS (15+ years), Doctorate Degree/Ph.D. (12+ years)

• Proven success in architecting and deploying ML workflows in cloud environments (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI)

• Hands-on experience with ML/DL frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn , XGBoost, or Keras

• Strong programming skills in Python , with experience in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for ML workloads

• Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, TFX, Airflow) and CI/CD integration for model deployment

• Familiarity with federal data governance, security, and privacy standards , including JISF, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP

• Proficient in using IaC tools such as Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation to automate cloud ML infrastructure

• Experience with multi-tenant, distributed systems , and cloud-native architecture patterns

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty , Google Professional ML Engineer , or equivalent preferred

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

We are seeking an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Developer to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia to support the ongoing modernization and maintenance systems for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. This is a highly technical position; individuals will be screened by peers in a technical review of skills and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive a big data approach to execute government requirements to manage and enrich data to gather new insights. As the AI/ML developer, an ideal candidate will be part of a team to provide consultative, architectural, program, and engineering support for a federal customer.

• This is a client-facing position working remote or hybrid, subject to the requirements established by the CBP customer.
• Develop, train, and deploy advanced AI/ML and Gen-AI models.

• Design and implement innovative AI solutions to address complex business challenges using techniques such as natural language processing and large language models.
