Job Description

Overview

You'll be the primary architect behind our Adaptive Inquiry engine - the conversational AI that transforms non-technical entrepreneurs' ideas into thriving software businesses. While competitors build “prompt receptacles” that blindly execute commands, we've created something fundamentally different: an AI co-pilot that actively guides users to success through intelligent questioning, strategic guidance, and iterative refinement.

This isn't about writing prompts. This is about crafting the most sophisticated conversational AI system in the market - one that customers describe as "unlike anything else out there." Adaptive Inquiry doesn't just help creators to build and refine agents, it is a business partner that helps run every aspect of an entrepreneur's business—marketing, sales, support, the works.

What You Will Own

Adaptive Inquiry

  • Perfect the entire Interview → Create → Converse → Refine loop that turns vague ideas into detailed agent specifications and help deliver exceptional software products
  • Design multi-turn conversation flows that extract requirements users don't even know they have, and guides them through best practices in Product, UX, Research and more.
  • Implement advanced prompting strategies across our multi-LLM architecture (Claude, GPT-4/5, Llama, Gemini, etc.)

Multi-Agent System Architecture

  • Orchestrate complex interactions between specialized agents that handle everything from agent creation to image generation to pricing plans to marketing copy.
  • Optimize prompt performance across different LLM providers and their unique characteristics
  • Design and implement comprehensive evaluation frameworks to measure conversation quality and agent generation success

Continuous Innovation

  • Stay ahead of the curve on AI research, industry best practices and cutting edge techniques.
  • Propose and implement entirely new approaches to conversational AI and agent generation
What We Are Looking For

Deep AI Expertise

  • Obsessed with the nuances of prompt engineering across different model families
  • Expert knowledge of evaluation frameworks, few-shot learning, chain-of-thought reasoning, and advanced prompting techniques
  • Experience with multi-agent systems and orchestrating complex LLM workflows
  • You follow AI research releases like others follow sports - and you can implement new techniques immediately

Technical Chops (Major Bonus Points)

  • Unicorn territory: Can read, write, and debug code (we use modern web stack, but language doesn't matter as much as ability to ship)
  • Massive bonus: Experience with LLM infrastructure, error handling, and provider migrations
  • Would love: Comfortable with APIs, data pipelines, system architecture, and automated testing for LLM systems

Startup DNA

  • Thrive in ambiguity and move fast without breaking things
  • Own outcomes, not just tasks - you'll have significant autonomy and responsibility
  • Ready to wear multiple hats (this is a small team where everyone contributes across domains)
  • Comfortable with aggressive growth targets and the intensity that comes with them

Communication Excellence

  • Exceptional command of language, grammar, and precision in communication
  • A keen business sense, with fundamental knowledge of best practices in various disciplines.
  • Can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams
Why This Role Matters

Our customers regularly tell us that Adaptive Inquiry is "magical" - it understands their business needs better than they do and guides them to solutions they never imagined. You'll be the person ensuring that magic scales to thousands of conversations daily while maintaining the quality that sets us apart.

This isn't a traditional prompt engineering role where you're optimizing chatbot responses. You're building the conversational system that enables anyone to create professional software businesses through natural language - no coding, no technical knowledge required.

What You Get
  • Equity stake in a fast-growing AI startup backed by top-tier investors
  • Competitive salary (range based on experience)
  • Remote-first culture with flexible hours
  • Direct impact on product direction and company strategy
  • Access to cutting-edge AI tools and models for experimentation
The Process

We believe in testing real skills, not just talking about them. Our interview process includes hands-on prompt engineering challenges using real scenarios from our platform. You'll work with actual customer conversations and show us how you'd improve our systems.

Ready to own the most sophisticated conversational AI system in the market?

Send us:

  1. Your resume/LinkedIn
  2. Examples of advanced prompt engineering work (GitHub repos, prompts you've analyzed, evaluation frameworks you've built)
  3. A brief note on the most interesting AI development you've implemented in the last 6 months

Apply with Our VP of Product, Steve Kurtz

Appy.AI is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.

  • A bias for action, enjoying moving from idea to implementation and thriving in environments where experimentation and iteration lead to impact.
  • Great problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in AI systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and surface insights for continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, adept at working cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors.

Our teams enjoy a culture focused on prioritizing a flexible work environment that empowers individual growth, well-being, and belonging. We’re a technology company that leads with our humanity—driving our business priorities alongside meaningful social, community, and societal impact.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of two cutting-edge fields: advanced networking and generative artificial intelligence. As a Generative AI Prompt Engineer, you will be the crucial bridge between our deep networking domain expertise and the powerful capabilities of LLMs like Google's Gemini. Your primary mission will be to design, craft, and refine the prompts, reasoning structures, and communication protocols that will guide autonomous AI agents to troubleshoot complex issues across Ciena's portfolio. Job Description

Overview

Join to apply for the Prompt Engineer / AI Engineer role at HyperFi .

About HyperFi: We're building the kind of platform we always wanted to use — fast, flexible, and built for making sense of real-world complexity. Behind the scenes is a robust, event-driven architecture that connects systems, abstracts messy workflows, and leaves room for smart automation. The surface is clean and simple. The interactions are seamless and intuitive. The machinery underneath is anything but. That’s where you come in.

We’re a well-networked founding team with strong execution roots and a clear roadmap. We’re backed, focused, and delivering fast. We’re looking for a Prompt Engineer / AI Engineer to join early. Someone who knows how to move from prototype to production, who can design prompts, evaluate them, and wrap them in real workflows that run reliably. You’ll work closely with the CTO and Tech Lead to build intelligent systems that plug into a larger product — not just toy demos. If you’re fluent in RAG, LangChain, and PySpark, and care about real-world agent behavior, this is your kind of role.

What You’ll Do
  • Build agentic LLM pipelines using LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith
  • Design and iterate on prompt strategies, with a focus on consistency and context
  • Construct retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems from scratch
  • Own orchestration of PySpark and Databricks workflows to prepare inputs and track outputs
  • Instrument evaluation metrics and telemetry to guide prompt evolution
  • Work alongside product, frontend, and backend engineers to tightly integrate AI into user-facing flows
Tech Stack (So Far)
  • Python (primary language for all LLM + orchestration work)
  • LangChain + LangGraph + LangSmith
  • Databricks + PySpark for processing, labeling, and training context
  • Gemini + model routing logic
  • Postgres, and custom orchestration via MCP
  • GitHub Actions, GCP

There’s enough here to move fast, but still plenty of room for your fingerprints.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5–7 years building production-grade ML, data, or AI systems
  • Strong grasp of prompt engineering, context construction, and retrieval design
  • Comfortable working in LangChain and building agents, not just chains
  • Experience with PySpark and Databricks to handle real-world data scale
  • Ability to write testable, maintainable Python with clear structure
  • Understanding of model evaluation, observability, and feedback loops
  • Excited to push from prototype → production → iteration
Bonus If You
  • Have built agent-like workflows with LangGraph or similar
  • Have worked on semantic chunking, vector search, or hybrid retrieval strategies
  • Can walk us through a real-world prompt failure — and how you fixed it
  • Have contributed to OSS tools or internal AI platforms
  • Think of yourself as both an engineer and a systems designer
Location & Compensation
  • Must be based in San Francisco, Las Vegas, or Tel Aviv
  • Full-time role with competitive comp
  • Flexible hours, async-friendly culture, engineering-led environment
Seniority level
  • Mid-Senior level
Employment type
  • Full-time
Job function
  • Engineering and Information Technology
Industries
  • Software Development
