The successful candidate will draw upon their experience to aid in the design and analysis of gas turbine engine components. Collaboration and a forward thinking approach are important to ensure we remain the supplier of choice for our customers. You will also be the face of Quest to your customers. Through listening to customer challenges, and building on your previous experiences, you will find creative approaches that will solve their most difficult engineering problems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and/or modify designs related to Aero-engine components by analyzing product specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capabilities
- Execute mechanical design projects of gas turbine components on Structures/Rotating parts (Frames, Shaft, Disk, Blisk, seals etc.) and/or Airfoils (Blade, Vanes, Nozzles etc.)
- Evaluate concepts of new designs/improvements, manufacturing methods, materials or processes and complete required documentation by applying engineering principles and Industry standards, and generating reports, procedures or change proposals
- Capture design & system requirements from the customer, and incorporate into the component design
- Support technical substantiation, contribute & present in technical and program reviews
- Develop components and modules keeping cost, performance, life, and system requirements in mind
- Design and Analysis of the component using CAE tools (NX, ANSYS Classic, ANSYS workbench)
- Direct interface with other internal/external engineering functions
- Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve a wide range of challenging engineering problems
- Evaluate form, fit, function and life of the components relative to the certified configuration
- Evaluate non-conformances by reviewing, analyzing design criteria's and acceptability limits, recommend disposition procedures and maximizing producibility
Required Skills:

- 1+ years of experience in the mechanical design of Gas-turbine or Turbo-machinery components
- Minimum BS/B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering from an accredited university
- Experience with NX and ANSYS (Classic or workbench) or other similar tools
- Ability to easily interpret technical drawings with understanding of GD&T
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to interact with employees/managers at all levels with strong oral and written communication skills
- Project Management experience is desired, but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Like to work in a fast paced, creative environment

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.

**Aircraft Styling Team**
Bring your engineering design experience and ideas to help us develop the best helicopter interiors in the world. As part of the commercial programs team, you'll be a part of Bell engineering tasked with improving and building new interiors, kits and components for our commercial aircraft. What youll do:
Generally, the responsibilities of this role will entail working with several different teams of mostly engineers to develop conceptual designs for marketing pursuits collaborate with a multi-disciplined staff in the creation of marketing materials, and technical reports for various types of projects including terminal programs, airfield pavements, hangar facilities, electrical NAVAIDs, and aviation planning. The ideal candidate would experience with aviation design for both commercial and general aviation airports, as well as the ability to provide outstanding service to internal clients.
Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Project Management of conceptual designs for proposals
- Coordinate efforts from technicians and technical writers to support of deliverables.
- Creation and collaboration on airport designs.
- Work with Project Managers and Engineers to incorporate the appropriate level of detail in each deliverable
- Participate in project progress meetings
Projected Compensation Range $108,600 to $65,800

+ Performing a wide array of aviation-related civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports
+ Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of small and large multi-discipline projects involving the design of airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, airfield lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation

**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education with an emphasis on design
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Experience managing $5MM contract value projects
+ Bachelors of Science - Civil Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Experience in preparation of Project Reports, Feasibility Studies, and PS&Es for Aviation projects
+ A proven track record of marketing/selling services to Aviation clients
+ Professional Engineer License in CA
+ Minimum of 8 years experience including 8 years of project management in the aviation market sector
+ Available to travel to clients and projects in Southern California Nevada and other states within the region

**Job Summary/Responsibilities**
+ Performing a wide array of aviation-related civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports
+ Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of small and large multi-discipline projects involving the design of airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, airfield lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation
+ Mentor and develop staff, provide leadership and an environment that encourages teamwork, initiative and growth
+ Guide project teams on complex technical issues
+ Supervision, coordination, and production of several projects concurrently
+ Builds and maintains positive client relationships
+ Involved in marketing/business development including the ability to market and win work.
+ Develop strategy, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and execute projects.
+ Coordinate staffing plan and workload through the entire project development duration while meeting project schedules and budgets
+ Control overall project cost and scope, schedule, and quality of work
+ Implement project QA/QC and work with Finance & Accounting, Controller, Department Manager, or Managing Principles for project reviews
+ Preparation of engineering design reports, project definition documents, construction plans, and contract documents / technical specifications
+ Significant design and construction oversight for multiple general aviation clients
+ Collaborating and/or coordinating design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
+ Coordination with clients, funding agencies, FAA and local permit agencies
**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education with an emphasis on design
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Experience managing $5MM contract value projects
+ Bachelors of Science - Civil Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Experience in preparation of Project Reports, Feasibility Studies, and PS&Es for Aviation projects
+ A proven track record of marketing/selling services to Aviation clients
+ Professional Engineer License in CA
+ Minimum of 8 years experience including 8 years of project management in the aviation market sector
+ Available to travel to clients and projects in Southern California Nevada and other states within the region

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $41,000.00 - 230,000.00.

PGAL is seeking a dynamic and experienced Aviation Engineering Design Manager to support our existing aviation projects, pursue new projects, and help grow our aviation engineering group. This seller-doer role entails building and managing a high-performing team, collaborating closely with our established architectural aviation group on nationwide projects, and driving new business opportunities across both landside and airside sectors.
This role can be based in our Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, or Alexandria offices, with opportunities to lead efforts and support aviation pursuits across the country, contributing to PGAL's reputation as a nationwide leader in aviation design.
As the Aviation Engineering Design Manager, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including contract management, team leadership, quality assurance, and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Support design needs and mentor a team to ensure the successful delivery of projects that include the design of taxiways, taxilanes, aprons, roadways, stormwater, and utility infrastructure
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering leadership to develop goals, growth plans, and implement strategic initiatives for a variety of airside and landside airport projects, including but not limited to:
- Commercial and General Aviation Airport master planning
- Passenger terminal redevelopment programs
- FAA movement area expansions and reconstruction
- Airfield utility infrastructure assessments
- To help expand PGAL's strong nationwide aviation presence, we will support business development efforts in the aviation engineering market and collaborative architecture/engineering aviation pursuits.
- Help build and lead a high-performing team of aviation engineers to execute new project delivery and provide engineering support for architecture aviation projects. Lead aviation engineering pursuits while developing, maintaining, and growing key client relationships in commercial service and general aviation.
- Coordinate with airport authorities, airlines, federal agencies, and other stakeholders, including construction administration/management as well as PGAL's Architecture and Civil Engineering Teams.
- Actively participate in industry initiatives and events to maintain PGALs presence and leadership in aviation design, including recruiting qualified personnel.
- Manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams.
- 10+ years of experience in aviation civil engineering design, and project management
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license in TX, CA, or VA is required, with the expectation that licensure in all three states will ultimately be required. Additional state licensures are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of and experience in the application of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction, including taxiways, taxilanes, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, pavement markings, and other federal regulation processes such as preparation of FAA 7460-1 applications and 49 CFR Par 77 analyses
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a focus on meeting individual and strategic goals for the aviation engineering group
- Aviplan, AutoCAD, and Civil3D experience and/or working knowledge of design software preferred
- Excellent communication, management, and organizational abilities
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
