FLYING VERTICAL-LIFT REQUIRES special skills and rigorous training. The men and women of the US Air Force vertical-lift community are called upon day or night to fly difficult missions, often under challenging conditions. USAF vertical-lift carries out their missions in the world's most sophisticated Combat Rescue, Special Operations and Global Strike aircraft, from the MH-139 Grey Wolf to the CV-22 Osprey. All of them start their flying careers at USAF's premier helicopter flying training unit, the 23d Flying Training Squadron (FTS) at Fort Rucker, Alabama. **Job Overview:**
V2X GTS has a requirement for an Instructor Pilot (IP) in support of the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) in Kuwait City, Kuwait (Ali Al Salem Air Base). The IP provides Instructor & Operator (I/O) support, services and TADSS oversight required under W-TRS TDL 025 and reports directly to the in-country V2X-GTS Program Manager. The successful candidate must be a United States citizen, with proof of citizenship and a current U.S. passport. Standard work week is five (5) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s).

**Responsibilities:**
Provides (IP) support, services, and oversight for all KAF TADSS.
+ The Instructor Pilot (IP) must be a trained and certified aviation educator, able to provide instruction and guidance on the AH-64 model D/E.
+ Instructor Pilots provide advanced AH-64D/E flight instruction to student pilots in accordance with the Army Aircrew Training Manual. Instructor Pilots will have IP experience at the company level or above.

+ Prepare simulator flight hour utilization and scheduling reports

+ Provide flight instruction, in-flight evaluation, examination, and instruction services. Determine required training objectives and scope, including subjects or tasks to be taught and evaluation criteria. Train pilots to the U.S. Army or host nation standards IAW aviation publications and regulations.
+ Check-in each scheduled aircrew upon their arrival to the facility. Provide the aircrew any requested mission scenario loads to include weather, current aircraft flight planning data, and any other information needed for completion of the mission, as requested.
+ Ensure aircrew has the aircraft specific operational publications and information, required forms, and other flight planning materials for the flight-training period.
+ Remain immediately available to the aircrew throughout the flight-training period. Prior to the training flight, the I/O will review the pilots' flight planning for accuracy, critique/ instruct and answer any questions as requested.
+ Conduct debriefings and grading of the aircrew IAW the applicable Aircrew Training Manual. The I/O will also provide appropriate comments relative to the flight and written comments in the Individual Aircrew Training Folder (IATF) for instrument check rides and any other training/evaluation events requiring written comments. The I/O will instruct the aircrew in techniques and corrective procedures to help avoid error repetition.
+ Provide instruction on day/night/Night Vision Goggles (NVG) contact, emergency procedures, instrument, terrain flight, tactics, gunnery, and aircraft systems and simulated air traffic control services IAW Air Traffic Control Manual, FAA Order for terminal, en-route, and approach and departure control services.
+ Provide existing, modified and/or contractor-developed training tutorials, courseware curriculum and Programs of Instruction (POI) for military and civilian related subjects in English.
+ Serve as the subject matter expert for aircrew training manual, aviation procedures and techniques, and all others in the performance of their duties. The I/O will stay knowledgeable on all changes in reference to publications, regulations and procedures, project guidelines, and progress of training. The I/O will recommend changes and improvements to existing courses and publications as required.
+ Develop a flight simulator training Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) describing qualifications, responsibilities, and procedures necessary to ensure a comprehensive flight training and evaluation program.
+ Will assist with maintenance and serviceability assessments of all TADSS weapon simulations equipment.
+ Will regularly interface with FMS customers working at Kuwait installations and provide technical advice and advanced troubleshooting procedures within established guidelines and company responsibilities.
+ Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections of the simulator.
+ Conduct operational readiness checks and simulator maintenance test flights.
+ Safeguards and maintains property, materials, and facilities.
+ Ensures that standards, specifications, practices, and quality for all products and services are maintained at the acceptable levels required in the contract.
+ Ensures that Quality Control standards are observed and followed.
+ Provides customer assistance and advice in a proficient and professional manner.
+ Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information to a diverse group of customers.
+ Coordinate on-site maintenance with the local installations designated Foreign Government representative to deconflict training, exercise, and test schedules with maintenance activities and resolve problems on the devices or at the site.
+ Coordinate LCT Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Generator systems annual services and document results IAW vendor/OEM manuals.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ High School Graduate required u2013 Associate or Bachelor Degree desired.
+ Graduate of the U.S. Army AH-64D/E Instructor Pilot and Methods of Instruction course.
+ 5+ years as an aviator required with last AH-64D/E flight within the last 12 months. (Currency or refresher training may be provided as needed).
+ AH-64Ev6 qualification preferred.
+ Minimum of 1000 hours as pilot in the AH-64D/E.
+ Minimum of 250 hours as Instructor Pilot in the AH-64D/E.

**Role Description:**
This is a full-time Home of Record HOR based worldwide deployable Fixed Wing FW Instructor Pilot IP position. Serves as DHC-8 Instructor Pilot, Pilot in Command and, when required, as Second in Command. Responsible for conducting crew member training and evaluations, standardization administration, flight records, AWIS, publications and references. Monitors flight instruction to include aircraft transition training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations.
**Key R** **esponsibility:**
+ Maintain aircraft currency and proficiency in accordance with government and DoS INLA guidance.
+ Deploy routinely OCONUS and occasionally CONUS to support worldwide operations anticipate 180 days or more TDY annually, to potentially remote and or austere environments.
+ Serve as Pilot, Pilot-in-Command, and Instructor Pilot, conducting academic and hands-on training, evaluations, and maintaining crewmember records IATFs, AWIS entries, flight records, weight and balance, risk assessments.
+ Ensure compliance with Standardization Directives, Aircrew Training Manuals, SOPs, and Aircrew Training Program ATP requirements develop tailored training to support organizational missions.
+ Monitor and evaluate crewmember performance in mission planning and flight operations to ensure standardization and adherence to policies.
+ Stay current on additions and changes to applicable procedures and documentation.
+ Delegate functions as appropriate while retaining overall responsibility.
+ Maintain professional standards, including adequate rest and proper appearance.
+ Perform other aviation-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 1,500 total fixed wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine engine time.
+ FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman's Certificate Airplane, MEL.
+ FAA CFI-CFII-MEI or military equivalent.
+ FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
+ Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
+ DHC-8 type rating
+ Within 90 days of integration, complete DHC-8 Readiness Level RL training.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 180 days or more annually, schedule may vary monthly.
+ Minimum 300 hours instructor pilot or check pilot time.
+ Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
+ Spanish Level L-2, R-2 required in LATAM Programs.
**Preferred**
+ Documented Functional Check Pilot FCP Maintenance Test Pilot MTP training.
+ FAA Airline Transport Pilot ATP Certificate
+ Prior military standardization pilot and or pilot support on the DoS INLA program.
+ Prior experience as a military standardization pilot or civilian equivalent.
+ Bachelors degree or higher.
+ Have an active U.S. DoD Security Clearance.

+ Total Flight Time - 1500 hours. Flight time as pilot-in-command or second-in-command (per FAR 61.51); as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable for this requirement.
+ Must certify having a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
+ Must have instructed students in instrument flight training.
+ Night Flying - 75 hours.
+ Instructor Time - 500 hours.
+ Basic Warfighter Skills Applicants - must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and having 200 hours of NVG time.
+ Must have a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning training.
+ Must not exceed 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
+ Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
