Aircraft A&P Mechanic

Piston And/or Sheet Metal Experience Required

Candidates must have a valid A&P Certificate

Candidates must have a strong background and work history performing aircraft maintenance repairs on general aviation piston singles, twins, turboprops and/or light jets.

  • Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace, overhauls aircraft components & parts, hydraulic systems & landing gear, electrical systems, structures & sheet metal, flight controls & rigging, pneumatic systems, engines, propellers, etc.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturer's maintenance manuals, illustrated parts manual, wiring manuals, structures manuals, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and other manufacture's advisory letters to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Examines engines and propeller systems for normal operation and make adjustments as required.
  • Should be able to operate an engine to locate source of malfunction.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components such as alternators, magnetos, propellers, ignition systems, fuel systems, etc.
  • Inspects parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including changing oil, oil filter, cleaning screens, lubricating moving parts, and checking brakes.
  • Must account for all parts, materials, and documentation.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
  • Comply with Byerly Aviation, Airport, FAA, TSA and other regulatory rules pertaining to the FBO operations pertaining to aircraft maintenance.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blue prints, production illustrations and other specifications to determine the identity, location and relationship of aircraft parts.
  • Demonstrates skill and capability in aircraft maintenance with a dedication to assisting the customer with their needs.

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for providing technical expertise in mechanical and inspection work and during troubleshooting of mechanical and system problems. Provides flight line and ground support. Develops and writes procedures to improve work quality and records. Develops new job protocols for project work. Provides training to less experienced A&P specialists. Frequently interacts with inter-organizational and customer contacts. Accurately plans and schedules asset availability.
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Assist supervision and management in the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures.
+ Provide training and oversight to less experienced A&P specialists. Assist in the development of training programs.
+ Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
+ Inspect powerplant and related components at regular intervals adhering to company approved procedures and/or government and customer technical order requirements.
+ Responsible for powerplant development.
+ Repair fuel and/or oil leaks and/or engine problems as required. May remove and replace airframe and/or engine components as needed.
+ Review aircraft records to ensure all required maintenance and documentation is completed in accordance with established company procedures and/or government and customer technical order requirements.
+ May troubleshoot and repair aircraft independently, and assist and/or train lesser skilled specialists in troubleshooting.
+ May inspect, test, maintain and operate ground support equipment.
+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
+ Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Additional Functions
+ Effectively utilize company provided aides and software programs to enhance troubleshooting and overall system expertise.

**Job Qualifications:**
+ Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five or more years of aircraft mechanical maintenance experience.

+ Must demonstrate sound decision making skills and the ability to anticipate work-related constraints and resolve issues independently.
+ Must be self-directed in identifying work assignments and able to solicit input and guidance from supervisors and managers for technical expertise.

AAA, United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Little Rock, Arkansas that shapes the future by designing and building military aircraft, business jets and space systems. We are looking for experienced Airframe Structure Mechanics who are seeking their next opportunity in a complex and ever-changing work environment!


The Airframe Structure Mechanic will perform sheet metal operations with or without power tools, as needed, in accordance with Engineering drawings, Engineering Standards, and FAA aircraft repair and Alterations Manual 43.13-1 B12A. The Airframe Structure Mechanic will Install interior shell panels and complete interior operations as required to prepare the aircraft for cabinet installation.


**Must be willing to temporarily and/or permanently relocate to Little, Rock Arkansas for work**

  • Additonal courses in sheet metal services or technical school. (5 years of aircraft mfg./production experience may be substituted for sheet metal courses)
  • 2 years of aircraft manufacturing experience. (May substitute directly related education for experience.)
  • Must be able to work from blueprint or sketches.
  • Must be able to use calibrated tools and measuring devices.
  • Must be able to set up and operate all standard shop equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Must have at least two (2) years of aircraft manufacturing experience with courses in sheet metal services from a technical school / military or five (5) years of aircraft manufacturing / production experience to substitute for the sheet metal course requirement.

Able to work from drawings, sketches, pictures, or verbal specifications.

Must be able to use calibrated tools, measuring devices, and set up and operate standard shop equipment.

Able to enter or exit aircraft work stands in a safe manner.

Able to work from adjustable height stands in a safe manner and be able to climb steps to approximately 25 feet in height, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Able to use motorized portable personnel lifts that extend up to 25 feet in height.

Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience applying adhesive materials.

Experience with material shaping and forming.

Experience using air tools and equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work location for this position is mainly in a climate-controlled hangar with occasional outside work.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position typically falls between $24 and $31 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for a shift differential or relocation assistance. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
