Monitors movement and airport access through security access tracking software and responds to all alarms. Monitors and controls multi-faceted enhanced Closed Caption Television (CCTV) and access control systems using computer software.

Monitors local and regional weather patterns. Reports field conditions during winter operations. Monitors airport movement and non-movement areas for Foreign Object Debris (FOD). Issues proper Notices to Airmen (NOTAMS). Conducts wildlife mitigation efforts on and around the Boise Airport, using various methods.

Operates and monitors a multi-channel, county-wide two-way radio system to communicate airport functions and emergencies on and around the airport. Operates and/or monitors flight information displays, weather displays, runway surface sensor displays, fire detection systems and emergency notifications. Operates computer terminals using applicable software.

Assists the airport credentialing office in personnel working and operating within the Boise Airport. Provides security and airport drivers/familiarization training to employees, tenants and others as outlined in TSA 1542 and FAR 139.Communicates with airfield maintenance to arrange for the proper equipment needed. Writes and helps maintain standard operating procedures for the airport operations department.

**Description**

From the exceptional service at the check-in counter to the departure gate, and even behind the scenes making sure your checked bags arrive with you, our Airport Operations team keeps operations at our airports running smoothly every single day.
**Team Leadership Activities**
+ Engage front-line co-workers to deliver excellent customer service and an on-time quality product - for example, participate in briefings, and develop team communications
+ Engage and recognize external customers
+ Monitor front-line co-worker behavior with customers (both internal and external) to ensure consistency and compliance with Company guidelines, procedures and standards
+ Monitor the performance of a team, zone or cell, taking actions as necessary, to ensure daily goals are met
+ Assess and delegate the appropriate work tasks to Service Directors/Leads/Pursers
+ Identify issues and engage in structured problem solving to assist front-line co-workers in accomplishing work
+ Conduct trend analyses, review key metrics and take actions to address items not on track - lead performance dialogues with front-line co-workers to review metrics, performance boards and issues boards
+ Develop and implement standard work and continuous improvement processes
+ Set expectations with co-workers with regard to performance standards including consistent and outstanding delivery of service and product
+ Provide front-line co-workers with regular coaching, feedback and recognition, as appropriate
+ Develop skills of front-line co-workers by coaching on performance, as it relates to customer service and products
+ Communicate effectively to ensure priorities are understood and acted upon, with clear turnover for continuity across shifts
+ Serve as a subject matter expert on service and procedures
**Performance Management Activities**
+ Develop actions plans to affect behavior change (e.g. dependability, overall job performance)
+ Provide technical guidance and interpret company guidelines and procedures and/or union agreements to assist employees in performing functional tasks and to ensure that safety, security and service are delivered consistently
+ Identify, address and issue appropriate and timely corrective action in accordance with guidelines
+ Conduct "routine" investigations, as appropriate, into performance, safety (damages and injuries), complaints and other work issues
+ Recognize and document excellent performance
+ Partner with vendor supervisor staff to define and address performance impacting shared goals and service delivery to United's customers
+ Participate in peer, safety and accident review boards
+ Confront and address inappropriate behavior and performance issues with specific feedback
**Administrative Activities**
+ Complete all mandatory regulatory and Company required documentation of activities
+ Document performance issues into case management system
+ Attend division/unit/group meetings
+ Participate on collateral projects
+ Email/Voicemail follow up
**Qualifications**
**What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Experience leading and influencing a team and customer service experience
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
+ Conflict resolution and decision making, with the ability to lead
+ Experience supervising Union personnel a plus

The base pay range for this role is $75,970.80 to $92,853.20.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.

As an Airport Manager, youll oversee all activities at our airport location and ensure were running smoothly and profitably with satisfied customers and employees alike. What youll do:

  • Manage all activities at an airport related to servicing of customers at the rental counter and arranging for the rental of vehicles, the selling of incremental products to customers, and the cleaning and preparation of returned vehicles for the next rental

  • Manage, plan, and implement staffing schedules based on business demands and transaction levels and oversee exempt and nonexempt personnel

  • Oversee shuttling of customers from rental counters to cars or from cars to airline terminal

  • Ensure customer complaints are handled and resolved in a timely and effective manner

  • Provide statistical information relating to transaction and revenue projects

  • Assist management in the preparation of annual budget

  • Monitor the price of gasoline charges currently being paid

  • Implement HR policies

What were looking for:

  • BA/BS - Bachelors Degree or equivalent required

  • 1 + years of leadership and management experience

  • Experience in car/truck rental preferred, human resources, training, customer service and general operations.

  • Working knowledge of P&L

  • Strong decision making ability and independent judgment to establish operational plans, within operational guidelines and in support of the business plan.

  • Strong analytical and math skills. Must be able to review numerous reports and other sources of data in an effort to determine best course of action.

  • Excellent management skills. Must be able to provide direction and support to a large number staff

  • Very strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate company vision as well as communicate accurate day-to-day operations information to a wide variety of audiences, including staff, operations management, independent contractors and vendors.

  • Very strong organization and administration skills to ensure day to day smooth operations with detailed, accurate records.

  • Strong time-management and multi-tasking skills with the capability to determine priorities in a fast paced, changing environment.

  • Strong customer service skills. Must be able to provide good customer service directly to customers, and prioritize operations based on customer rental needs.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and results-driven orientation. Ability to demonstrate the drive to achieve results and continuous improvement. Ability to manage performance of staff to drive district results.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, BART & O2

  • Willingness to travel

Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of airport operations staff engaged in monitoring airfield, airside, landside, terminal operations, security, safety, and other activities related to the welfare of passengers, airlines, tenants, and the general public. Conducts patrols and inspections of landside, airside, and terminal facilities to ensure safety, security, and operational efficiency. Inspects runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, and fuel facilities for hazards, and coordinates corrective actions with appropriate parties.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree in airport aviation management, public administration, business administration, or related field (or equivalent education/experience).

  • Three to five (35) years of relevant experience in airport operations, with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Required Skills and Special Requirements

  • Strong ability to prepare effective and concise reports.

  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and determine the proper course of action.

  • Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment:

    • ASOS Basic and Advanced certifications

    • ICS 100 and 200 completion

    • OSHA 10-hour course completion

    • Movement and non-movement driver certification

  • Must complete the ACI-NA Airport Customer Experience Specialist Program within 24 months.

  • Must complete the ACI Certificate in Team Leadership within 24 months.
