Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Product Development Technician is responsible for assisting in various Product Development projects. Duties include maintaining, modifying and repairing CyberKnife, H-Series and Radixact Radiation Delivery Systems; maintaining and repairing test and lab equipment; performing tests, measurements, and analysis; assisting Engineers with various Product Development tasks; selecting and purchasing supplies, components, and assemblies for maintaining and testing.

REPORTING TO/DEPARTMENT:

Reports to the Group Lead, Mechanical Design in the Mechanical Design department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair radiation delivery systems and associated bunker support instrumentation, in accordance with quality system requirements and associated manufacturing and service procedures.
• Support the Product Development group in assembly, optimization, testing, and documentation of new product configurations and technologies.
• Manage inventory of spare and alternate parts necessary to maintain and reconfigure radiation delivery systems; procure replacement/new parts through supply chain, manufacturing, and/or service as needed.
• Assist in the procurement, control, maintenance, and calibration of bunker-related test equipment, tools, etc.
• Obtain required data sets; assist in analyzing and presenting findings.
• Assist the development of facility requirements to accommodate product development, including workflow, shelving, other storage, and workstations.
• Assist in implementation and use of special facility controls that may be required, for example ESD, cleanliness, etc.
• Support product development after design transfer through various sustaining, field support, enhancement, and maintenance efforts under the direction/supervision of design engineers.
• Work effectively with other engineers, scientists and vendors.
• Work effectively with project managers, providing work estimates and reporting status and issues in a timely manner for each applicable project.
• Complete projects in a timely manner with proper documentation, reporting promptly the progress, plans, and problems in a concise manner.
• Facilitate maintenance of accurate, up-to-date logs of system configuration and usage by all bunker users.
• Provide support to product development and marketing organization for trade shows.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites and Accuray manufacturing and training facility in Madison, Wisconsin.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

**JOB OVERVIEW**
This position requires coordination between Development, Planning, Merchandising and Design departments in a design driven atmosphere. Applicant must be technically competent and have a detailed understanding of the manufacturing processes for a diverse range of product types. As the **Product Development Manager;** you will have the opportunity to:
· Drive the raw material management process for assigned products, with an emphasis on performance, and quality product development within the applicable calendar.
· Builds working relationship with Design, Sourcing and Merchandising to proactively manage the fabric and trim requirements relative to manufacturability, performance, quality, cost, lead-times and minimums.
· Provide options for injecting newness into ongoing programs by researching innovative fibers, new technologies, and finishing techniques, etc. that can add value to current collections.
· Communicate directly with fabric vendors and mills to guide development process.
· Ensure all development documentation is maintained for assigned trims/fabric, fit and design comments
· Obtain quotes from suppliers, manage requirements, and negotiate pricing.
· Communicate information and any issues to all related internal parties as well as to overseas mills and suppliers.
· Coordinate internal proto reviews with cross functional teams
· Negotiate costing with mills and suppliers to exceed margin expectations and maximize profit. Work closely with Development and Sourcing to ensure that seasonal margin goals are met.
· Leverage volume and reduction of raw materials to gain profitable bulk costing

+ College degree in Apparel/Material Sourcing/Development preferred but not required
+ 7+ years' apparel / raw materials experience required with some exposure to Performance Product/fabrics

**Job Summary**
As a **Product Development Manager** at FranklinCovey, you'll serve as the critical link between our platform and content teams-owning the scope, design, implementation, and optimization of scalable technical solutions that align with our product strategy. This highly cross-functional role blends strategic product thinking with operational execution, helping ensure that our products are built, launched, and maintained with clarity and precision. + Effectively communicate with and manage expectations of stakeholders and all internal groups during the product build by maintaining timelines and providing status updates.
+ Work closely with launch teams to create internal and external training for release.
+ Effectively share information with all involved parties of the product lifecycle: verbally, written, or by team presentation.
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in business administration, product development, computer science, engineering, or a related field
+ 5+ years of experience in product operations, technical product management, technical program management or business analysis
**Preferred Skills & Experience**
+ Strong understanding of product architecture, content delivery systems, and/or digital learning tools
+ Proven ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
