Responsibilities:

·         Implement automation across all layers - infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment, testing, and operation. 

·         Retool infrastructure to provide an agile foundation that provides joint infrastructure management and automation framework. 

·         Interface directly with staff members within the organization to discuss and assess compliance with IT policies, standards and procedures and suggest opportunities for improvement. 

·         Build automation to configure applications, networks, and services, in a production, testing, and development environment. 

·         Partner with infrastructure teams to identify and automate processes to reduce technical debt, set up CI/CD pipelines, and optimize build/testing/deployment times. 

·         Work with testing and development teams throughout the testing life cycle ensuring timely integration. 

·         Commit all automation code and supporting files to source control (git and GitLab). 

·         Train operations team members to use the automation the team builds.

·         Configure and administer cloud technologies in hyperscale cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP among others.

·         Configure and administer cloud services in an on-premises platforms (e.g. Azure Stack family of systems, Amazon Snow family of systems, etc.)

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Position Requirements: 

·         Documented network and system administration experience

·         Documented virtualization technology experience (e.g. VMWare, Linux, Windows, etc.)

·         Experience with source control using git and GitHub/GitLab repositories. 

·         Experience leading medium to large projects by bringing together the right perspectives, identifying roadblocks, and integrating feedback from clients and team members. 

·         7+ years of experience in Infrastructure IT Operations. 

·         5+ years of software automation and development experience. 

·         2+ years scripting language experience. 

·         Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I or Level II certification. 

·         Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation. 

·         Cloud Computing certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, AWS Associate Level Cert, etc.). 

·         Experience with on-premises cloud technologies (e.g. Azure Stack, Amazon Snow, etc.)

Job Summary

The Director - Azure Cloud Services will lead and expand SHI's Azure Cloud Services practice, driving innovation and delivering exceptional Azure-based solutions to our enterprise clients. This role encompasses managing professional services, and a robust services delivery partner ecosystem, all centered around Microsoft Azure. You will lead a team of Managers, Solutions Architects and Engineers ensuring the successful design, implementation, and management of complex Azure cloud solutions.

Role Description

  • Strategic Leadership & Azure Practice Development:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Azure Cloud Services practice, focusing on cutting-edge Azure technologies and solutions.

  • Establish and maintain best practices for Azure infrastructure, platform services, and application development.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize Azure service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Lead the development of service offerings related to Azure migration, cloud-native development, data analytics, and security.

  • Team Leadership & Azure Expertise:

  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams of Azure-certified technical professionals, including engineers, architects, and project managers.

  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to enhance the Azure expertise and leadership skills of team members.

  • Ensure the team maintains a deep understanding of industry trends and emerging Azure services.

  • Customer Engagement & Azure Solution Delivery:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business needs and translating them into comprehensive Azure-based solutions.

  • Oversee the successful execution of complex Azure projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Drive the development of compelling proposals and presentations that articulate the value of SHI's Azure services.

  • Ensure a world-class customer experience through proactive communication, responsiveness, and technical excellence in Azure.

  • Technical Expertise & Collaboration (Azure Focused):

  • Maintain a strong understanding of Azure infrastructure (e.g., Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage), platform services (e.g., Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions), and security services (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Center).

  • Collaborate with Microsoft and key supporting Azure partners to drive joint solutions and initiatives.

  • Work closely with sales, presales, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and effective Azure service delivery.

  • Ensure that the team is trained and certified on the latest relevant Azure technologies.

  • Business Development & Azure Revenue Growth:

  • Drive the growth of professional services revenue by identifying and pursuing new Azure-focused business opportunities.

  • Manage pipeline development and resource utilization to maximize profitability in the Azure space.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners in the Azure ecosystem.

  • Ensure that the team is able to properly scope and deliver on complex Azure projects.

Skill Level Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a leadership role within a technology services organization, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.

  • Deep understanding of Azure infrastructure, platform services, and security best practices.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and growing Azure-focused technical services teams.

  • Experience working with enterprise clients and managing complex Azure projects.

  • Experience with Azure migration strategies, and tools.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps.

  • Previous experience with IT management or technical sales management related to Azure.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and delivering customer proposals related to Azure solutions.

The base salary for this position is $10,000 - 200,000. The estimated on-target earning, or OTE, which includes a base salary and bonus/commissions, are 140,000 - 250,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
