This team is responsible for providing finance support to key functions within AR including Operations Artificial Intelligence, Technology Deployment, and Global Safety & Support. This role also owns Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) support for the Amazon Robotics organization.
The Senior Finance Manager for Amazon Robotics will be the finance leader for disruptive new Robotics initiatives, with a focus on business partnering, strategic decision support, business case analysis, and on-going optimization of Robotics deployment and support. Leading a team of four analysts, this person will partner with multiple stakeholders to provide timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership to this high-growth organization. This role requires extensive cross-functional partnership with various Operations teams to maximize the financial return of Robotics within Amazon's fulfillment network.
The Senior Manager will also lead long term strategic planning, annual planning, variance analysis for monthly/quarterly business reviews, and ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner across teams to identify and quantify the long term deployment and support initiatives to maximize ROI of various Robotic initiatives.
- Develop strategic relationships with key business partners - this role will influences the Robotics roadmap and partners with leadership throughout Operations to align on strategic priorities and funding for implementation of Robotics solutions.
- Hire and Develop the talent of the of the growing Robotics Finance team.
- Communicate performance for Robotics installations and support to business and finance leaders across Operations including developing action plans to improve the performance of Robotics work cells.
- Construct the annual Robotics financial plan including capital requirements and projected savings through partnership with Robotics Engineering and Deployment teams.
Basic Qualifications
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
- 10+ years of finance experience, or Master's degree and 8+ years of finance experience
- 5+ years of direct management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
- 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience

Amazon is looking for talented Postdoctoral Scientists to join our Forward Looking Initiatives & Technology Enablers (FLITE) Team for a one-year, full-time research position. The Forward Looking Initiatives & Technology Enablers (FLITE) Team. FLITE's charter is to enable Amazon Robotics Manipulation Organization to innovate on advanced technology development.
The research work for this position will explore generalization of grasp policies in simulation and on novel hardware platforms.
The Postdoc will research, propose, and develop policies by leveraging the state-of-the-art visuomotor polices, data-efficient reinforcement learning methods, and foundation models for robotic perception and manipulation. The candidate will prototype algorithms in simulation and then deploy promising solutions to real and novel hardware. They will provide direction on where we should be focusing our efforts in this rapidly developing field and innovate and iterate on deep learning solutions for robotic manipulation.

- Experience in data science and quantitative research
- Proficiency in technologies relevant to the subfield
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to independently deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Publications at top-tier, peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Expert knowledge in modeling and performance, operationalization, and scalability of scientific techniques and establishing decision strategies

The System Engineer plays a crucial role in the Amazon Robotics deployment team. They oversee the installation, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment in new and existing fulfillment centers (FCs). This field engineering based position demands strong technical skills for deploying robotic equipment, including working with mechanical systems, electrical, configuring networking, and coordinating software systems. While training is provided on the specific systems that the engineers will be working on, a candidate should have foundational knowledge of robotics, networked mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
System engineers will work with a team of 1-5 engineers and collaborate with an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight on the installation of both third party and Amazon designed robotics equipment. These deployments require extensive collaboration with varies stakeholders, including third-party installers, contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, IT, and other partner teams. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with both internal and external partners and customers. As an Amazonian the candidate must demonstrate independent initiative to identify and solve problems in real time during deployments. They will also drive continuous improvement initiatives to avoid recurrences.
Systems engineers will be deploying the robotic systems in various phases of a product life cycle. When supporting new products, the candidate require to lead the development of process documentation and modifying the existing processes. Strong technical understanding, love for field work, and a keen interest in diving deep into the understanding of Amazon's robotics systems are key attributes for this role. As an Amazonian, the ability to recognize process gaps and take ownership in developing solutions are important. Project duration can range from a few days to several months and include travel across the US. International work is available for candidates interested in pursuing. This position requires 75% travel. Valid US drivers' license required.
**Relocation to Amazon Corporate offices in Seattle, Boston, or Austin will be required for the role.
