**What you will do**

+ Check weather, all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determine fuel, oil and oxygen requirements
+ Determine aircraft weight and balance
+ Ensure that all flight planning requirements have been met
+ Ensure that aircraft crew members have valid licenses, medical certificates, passports and visas if and when required
+ Complete an aircraft pre-flight inspection before each departure
+ Briefing the passengers in accordance with the requirements
+ Operate the aircraft in accordance with operator procedures and aircraft limitations
+ Maintain compliance with customs, immigration and cabotage laws
+ Complete all post flight duties, including notification to the company of any deviation from the planned itinerary or overnight location
+ Record flight times and aircraft defects

Excelsior's modular approach leverages smart blocks as the foundation of drug design and synthesis. Our smart blocks and proprietary methodologies enable chemistry that machines can do, rather than building machines that attempt to do chemistry as it is practiced today. By coupling our automated synthesis and testing, we can reduce the design-make-test-analyze cycle to two weeks. This rapid generation of high-quality data allows us to fully leverage AI/ML to create closed learning loops and conduct multiparameter optimization, resulting in better medicines, fast. Excelsior's operations are fully U.S.-based, as our automated approach enables us to onshore integrated drug discovery.
Title: Drug Discovery Informatics Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a deep understanding of both the scientific and informatics aspects of drug discovery, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a passion for leveraging technology to make a tangible impact. Your role will involve harnessing the power of data analytics, bioinformatics, and computational tools to accelerate the discovery and development of new therapeutic drugs. In this position, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, researchers, and technologists to transform raw data into actionable insights, thereby driving forward our mission to combat various diseases and improve global health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of an informatics backbone to drive our automated approach to lead discovery. This includes the ability to develop software tools which connect our AI tools, automation, and LIMs systems.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align informatics efforts with project goals. Contribute to the development and implementation of data management strategies to support drug discovery projects
- Collaborate with research scientists and other stakeholders to understand and document data needs
- Working with other technical staff, design, implement and maintain data systems and associated tools for storing, retrieving and analyzing complex datasets from across our Chemistry, Biology, and AI departments.
- Integrate sample tracking, data transfer, and multiple instrument communications into laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Develop and execute testing plans for new implementations of LIMS and other data related software; document outcomes.
- Provide training and support to research staff on informatics tools. Assist our scientists with data mining and statistical analysis to identify patterns and trends in our data.
- Coordinate information management activities with external partners in academia and industry.
- Stay updated on emerging informatics tools and methodologies
- Maintain the highest level of scientific rigor and professionalism within our organization.
Key Skills & Experiences
- MS or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience in bioinformatics or a related discipline OR BS in Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of industry experience in bioinformatics or a related discipline.
- Understanding of drug discovery and development processes and experience with high-throughput screening data analysis
- Familiarity working with AWS
- Working knowledge of implementing and administrating drug discovery database management systems (including tools like Dotmatics, Virscidian, Mosaic, etc.
- Experience integrating laboratory automation systems with informatics systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and applications in drug discovery

The salary range for this position is 115,000- 209,000 per year. The actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, education, and skills. Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science discipline.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of post-doctoral research experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a relevant academic setting, with a strong focus on small molecule or biologic drug discovery.
- Proven track record of successfully advancing drug discovery projects from target identification to lead optimization.
- Extensive experience with assay development, optimization, and execution across various therapeutic modalities.
- Demonstrated expertise in a specific therapeutic area (e.g., oncology, immunology, neuroscience) is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to critically evaluate data, troubleshoot experiments, and solve complex scientific problems.
- Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
