Responsibilities

About the role
The Analytical Chemist is responsible for performing chemical analyses and providing scientific support to ensure the quality and consistency of products. This role involves using advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation to analyze samples, interpret data, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The Analytical Chemist will work closely with the Senior Wine Scientist to develop and implement methodological improvements in wine chemistry measurement, selection and commissioning of new equipment, and advanced analytical training across the TWE lab network. Their time will be split between running routine advanced analysis and developing new techniques for accurate wine measurement.
Chemical Analysis:
+ Conduct advanced chemical analyses routinely, using a range of analytical techniques, including HPLC, GC/MS, MP-AES, FTIR and UV-VIS Fluorescence.
+ Prepare and analyze samples to determine the chemical composition, concentration, and purity of products.
+ Validate and calibrate analytical instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Data Interpretation and Reporting:
+ Analyze and interpret analytical data, providing clear and accurate results and conclusions.
+ Prepare detailed reports and documentation of analytical procedures, findings, and recommendations.
+ Ensure data quality of results prior to reporting.
Quality Control and Assurance:
+ Experience with TTB and FDA regulations is beneficial
+ Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) / Food Safety is beneficial
+ Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and protocols.
+ Support investigations related to product quality issues.
Method Development and Validation:
+ Develop and optimize analytical methods for new and existing products.

Laboratory Management:

About You

+ Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field, or Bachelor's degree with extensive GC experience.
+ Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical chemistry role, with hands-on experience in using analytical instrumentation and techniques. Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, wine) is preferred.
+ Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
+ Ability to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

**Position: Analytical Research & Development Scientist**
Play a pivotal role in developing innovative analytical methods and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring world-class quality and supporting regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Develop, implement, and validate robust analytical methods for manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory submissions
+ Drive innovation in analytical methodologies and manage seamless technology transfers across global facilities
+ Plan and execute research proposals, identifying project goals, resource needs, and practical applications
+ Conduct analytical testing on drug substances, intermediates, and raw materials for clinical and registration purposes
+ Ensure meticulous documentation and compliance with ICH and internal stability guidelines
+ Troubleshoot and resolve analytical challenges in manufacturing environments
+ Support stability programs and uphold QEH&S principles
+ Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to environmental and safety standards

**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in the pharmaceutical sector
+ Strong analytical chemistry expertise with proven proficiency in method development and GMP compliance
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at every level
+ Advanced skills in mathematical analysis and statistical concepts
+ Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required

**Overview**

In this role, you will:
+ Perform analytical research and development activities to design and improve manufacturing processes or technology.
+ Develop and validate innovative analytical chemistry and methodologies.
+ Facilitate and support analytical technology transfers to manufacturing environments.
+ Plan and formulate research proposals, considering objectives, applications, costs, and resources.
+ Keep detailed records and documentation of all experiments.
+ Support stability programs in compliance with internal, corporate, and ICH guidelines.
+ Analyze drug substances, intermediates, and raw materials for clinical and registration programs.
+ Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by production and validation schedules.
**Responsibilities**
+ Develop and validate analytical methods for manufacturing and regulatory support.
+ Actively participate in manufacturing site activities, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
+ Uphold safety and environmental responsibilities while managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related sciences with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (peptide experience is a plus).
+ 2+years of experience with HPLC with cGMP/GMP
+ Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting scientific literature and technical documentation.
+ Advanced mathematical and statistical skills for technical problem-solving.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings effectively.

We are seeking a full-time Lab Director to oversee the daily operations of our chemistry laboratory. This leadership role requires hands-on management of laboratory staff, quality systems, and analytical instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for environmental testing.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee daily operations of the chemistry laboratory.
+ Manage laboratory staff and ensure adherence to quality systems.
+ Operate and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
+ Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Ensure compliance with state lab director approval requirements.
+ Maintain and validate methods for accurate laboratory analysis.
Essential Skills
+ Strong technical expertise in chemistry and analytical chemistry.
+ Proficiency in chromatography techniques.
+ Experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, ICs, and GC-MS.
+ Experience in both organic and inorganic chemistry.
+ Proven experience in staff oversight and lab operations.
+ Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ph.D. in Chemistry is desired.
+ Experience in Radiochemistry and Microbiology is a plus.
+ State lab director approval or willingness to obtain.
