Responsibilities
A highly motivated and experienced Analytical Chemist is needed to join the team. The focus of the role is the characterization of polysaccharides, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and other biologics. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing analytical methods to support the analysis of process development samples for polysaccharide and proteins/mAbs therapeutics.
Requirements
This role requires a strong understanding of SEC-MALS, protein biochemistry and a proven track record of applying a variety of analytical techniques, specifically N-glycan analysis, titer determination, Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Mutli-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) Detector, peptide mapping, imaged Capillary Isoelectric Focusing (iCE), and Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE) along with some Mass Spectroscopy (MS) experience to characterize mAbs and other proteins.

**Corteva Agriscience** **__** has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced **Analytical Chemist** in the **Regulatory Analytical Sciences Team** within **Global Regulatory Sciences R&D.** This analytical chemist position will provide cross-disciplinary analytical method support and regulatory expertise to enable registration of new products and successful defense of existing products in the market. This is an on-site, lab-based position located in **Indianapolis, IN** .
Regulatory Analytical Sciences provides quantitative residue support and expertise for crop protection product registrations and defense. This role will partner directly with internal and external teams to provide quantitative residue analytical expertise to support Good Lab Practice (GLP) and non-GLP studies, including method development for Residue, Ecotoxicology and Environmental studies. The candidate will also partner directly with global Contract Research Organizations (CRO) to ensure successful transfer and execution of methods for external sample analysis.
The successful candidate will have trace level analytical experience using Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), broad knowledge of sample extraction and clean-up techniques from complex matrices and demonstrated ability to partner effectively in cross-discipline and cross-functional teams.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Actively engages or leads analytical method development/troubleshooting for the trace level analysis of residues in agricultural samples (ex. crop, animal, environmental). Method development will include defining and optimizing sample extraction, clean-up, and instrument conditions for pipeline molecules as well as existing molecules.
+ Provides hands-on and distant trouble shooting at CROs or in Indy labs through effective technical collaboration.
+ Stays abreast of new discoveries and technologies in the area of environmental and analytical chemistry and implements new approaches when appropriate.
+ Serves as analytical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on regulatory projects for a portfolio of molecules.
+ Partners effectively with other disciplines on project and regulatory teams by providing analytical chemistry support and analytical expertise to support regulatory strategies.
+ Complies with all laboratory safety procedures, GLP Standards, and all other study-specific or pertinent regulatory agency requirements.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ A minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry is required.
+ Industry experience in quantitative analytical chemistry using LC-MS/MS; 5 year minimum for BS candidate or 3 year minimum for MS or PhD candidate.
+ Experience with quantitative extractions and sample clean-up techniques from various complex matrices.
+ Instrumentation expertise and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to conduct research and provide high-quality, finalized methods in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
+ Demonstrated technical reporting and documentation skills.
+ Ability to present complex technical information in an appropriate manner depending on the audience.
+ Technical project management experience and demonstrated proficiency.
+ Accepts responsibility and takes ownership of projects.
+ Possesses excellent problem solving and time management skills.
+ Demonstrates flexibility to accommodate urgent projects.
+ Ability to travel occasionally.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Agriculture industry experience
+ Quantitative LC-MS/MS residue analytical experience in small molecules.

**Job Overview:**
As part of our Talent Pipeline, the Analytical Chemist will play a vital role in driving forward innovative research by performing analytical testing, developing methodologies, and ensuring data accuracy through rigorous quality control. **Key Responsibilities:**
+ Perform analytical testing using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.
+ Develop and validate analytical methods to ensure accuracy and reproducibility.

+ Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments to ensure optimal performance.
+ Prepare and process samples, including extraction, filtration, and dilution.

+ Interpret and report data, contributing to research reports, presentations, and publications.
+ Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and reliability of data.

**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields.
+ Proven expertise in analytical techniques, including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, and NMR.
+ In-depth understanding of chemical analysis, method development, and validation processes.
+ Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex analytical issues.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong team-oriented approach.
+ Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., GMP, GLP) is a plus but not required.
