Full Time Maintenance Technician at Apartments in Monroe, MI.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Complete work orders and repairs in common areas and residential units as directed by Property Manager.
  2. Complete preventative maintenance as directed by Property Manager.
  3. Perform light electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  4. Repair and replace appliances, fixtures, carpet, screens, tile, glass, locks etc.
  5. Interior and exterior painting.
  6. Assist with grounds work, including snow removal.
  7. Assist and complete apartment turnovers.
  8. Assist with apartment inspections.
  9. Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive appearance of the Property.
  10. Be observant of any area or item needing repair and report same to management office.
  11. Participate in standby emergency & snow removal coverage for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.
  12. Other duties as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.


Qualifications:

  1. 2-3 years of maintenance experience. Managerial experience a plus.
  2. High school education or equivalent.
  3. Concern for a work-safety program and ability to operate equipment in a proper and safe manner.
  4. Prior experience with iPads and/or computers.
  5. Must be personable, trustworthy, and able to work both independently and with team.
  6. Ability to work to communicate professionally with all staff, vendors and residents.
  7. Must be able to lift & carry up to 50 lbs.


We manage primarily residential housing units, along with office and other commercial spaces as well. Our residential properties include market units, Section 8 units, and a combination of both. Our Section 8 properties include elderly housing, multi-family, and a combination of both.

Requirements:
  • HS diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with adults who have been diagnosed with a mental illness.
  • Ability to independently provide services.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must obtain and maintain Defensive Driver Certification within 30 days of hire
  • Must have access to a vehicle and willingness to use it for agency business.
  • Must maintain pre-employment clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
