We are searching for an Apparel Design Manager to focus on and elevate Apparel for Youth. The Design Manager will obsess the UA Youth consumer, and bringing design, function, and style to life. This is an opportunity to be part of a great focus for the brand.
**Your Impact**
+ Design and manage multiple product platforms that connect to the UA Brand DNA, sasonal concept, category direction, as well as integration of product & global merchandising input.

**Workplace Location**

**Base Compensation**
$101,302.40 - $139,290.80 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Graphic Designer and Production Assistant to join our growing creative team! In this role, you will work closely with the Graphic Design Team, POD production team and Vendor Direct Team to produce high quality and trend right graphics for our apparel business. You will be responsible for creating graphics on a weekly basis based on sales, seasonality, holidays, pop culture moments and newly acquired brands and licenses. You will be responsible for seeing them through from concept to print production. Projects include t-shirt & fleece graphics, submitting for licensing approval and prepping for production. You will be responsible for ensuring that all graphic designs are consistent with our brand strategy and meet our specific performance, pricing, and aesthetic goals. Key Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Conceptualize and create apparel graphics from conception through final print-ready art files including but not limited to sizing, placement on body and printer settings
  • Learn and apply basics of POD print production including preparing print-ready artwork files and production settings
  • Have a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Illustrator and Photoshop file building and manipulation
  • Strong knowledge of the marketplace, trends, competitor product and the needs of the Tillys customer
  • Maintain a strong sense of the Tillys customer design aesthetic through all design work
  • Perform research inspiration and keep abreast of relevant trends, sales information and the competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with the design department to develop and execute weekly deliverables
  • Interpret trend boards and design direction in order to develop graphics
  • Partner with designers to ensure a cohesive collections
  • Coordinate basic design submissions for approvals with licensors and brand partners
  • Assess and troubleshoot samples


Qualifications

Your experience brings:

  • Basic understanding of design principles, illustration and typography
  • Passion for fashion, graphics, trends and pop culture trends
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator AND MICROSOFT EXCEL. Must be proficient in all three programs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and managing emails
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required
  • Highly detailed with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining clear communication
  • Apparel, print production, or retail experience preferred
  • Experience with print on demand, production and/or tech packs is a plus, but not required


Education & Experience

  • Degree in Graphics Arts or related field

**WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH**
Technical Design Interns will be assigned to a Category or Division and work under the direction of a Sr. Tech Developer or Manager. They will assist the team in the fit and construction from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned styles to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals. Interns will assist in the creation and revision of the Tech Pack for assigned styles; ensuring all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs and prototype notes. They will assist in the execution fit and construction standards for a category or product group to ensure consistency. Interns will also track and facilitate prototyping for styles; identifying and addressing key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and planning accordingly to deliver proven and tested product.
**WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON**
As a Technical Design Intern, you will be responsible for scheduling fit models and attending fit sessions to take notes as needed. You will receive, track, and manage samples, as well as organize and maintain the sample closet to ensure efficiency. Ordering samples-including wear test and size set garments-will be part of your duties, utilizing various formats to meet project needs. You will help build toolboxes for cross-categorical standardization in both digital and physical formats, and create, edit, and update specifications and measurements in PCX. Seasonally, you will partner closely with Running Expression, Sr Design Director to evaluate consumer trends, macro global insights and marketplace analysis to lead the team in delivering innovative & craft obsessed designs through both physical and digital creative methods to cross pollinate creative team synergy across product, color, materials, and graphics.
You'll be deeply involved in developing design strategies and ensuring excellence through advanced concepts. Additionally, you'll manage presentations and communicate design visions to a variety of audiences, ensuring that all projects meet our high standards and timelines.
You will lead category design resources, processes and relationships to ensure project standards and timelines are met. You will also build and run your own seasonal/annual project workload and will be asked at times to extend outside of the primary activity of Running to support the larger Nike Design community. In addition, you'll work in conjunction with design leadership to develop design and optimally handle the annual goal-setting and evaluation process of your team.
**WHAT YOU BRING**
