The Senior Solution Application Architect is responsible for designing and managing enterprise cloud-based solutions with a strong focus on business alignment, security, and operational efficiency. It involves leading system architecture, driving DevOps and automation practices, collaborating across tea m s, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring timely delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions.
How You Will Contribute:
Architect division wide cloud-based solutions with a strong business focus.
Evaluate and integrate third-party systems and solutions.
Develop and present impactful cost-benefit analysis and viable recommendations.
Own, manage, and operate several enterprise solutions and high availability platforms.
Design and implement system, data and cloud architecture.
Strong experience with cloud architecture in a PaaS, SaaS and IaaS environments.
Develop and maintain strong DevOps and automation practices.
Ensure the security of infrastructure and application design and development.
Manage security and develop a plan to continuously improve security posture.
Optimize and automate processes to improve efficiency.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Establish and maintain relationships with business partners as a trusted technical advisor.
Translate discussions into technical documents and requirement documents. Develop clear and easily understood process flows, architecture diagrams, technical documents, and test plans.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

What to Expect
The Sr. Application Solution Architect is responsible for ensuring delivery of solutions that meet data and architecture standards. This role works with technical and business teams to define and improve application architecture, data flows and controls between core front office loan origination, pricing and decisioning systems, channels and external vendor applications for existing and new solutions.
What You Will Do
1. Design and Architecture:
• Support discovery and implementation of new projects and enhancements including review/evaluation of requirements for data, architecture process controls including adherence to architecture standards.
• Lead loan origination system, pricing and decision engine applications replacement assessment and discovery phases.
• Actively consult throughout the execution phases, including design, engineering, migration, implementation and operations.
• Lead IT strategy and roadmap, aligning tech with business vision.
2. Performance and Optimization:
• Lead the identification of application data and interface monitoring priorities and requirements, support design, development and validation of new reporting for existing processes and new enhancements.
• Identify and capture definition of data, end to end system flow and application owner of data.
• Provide oversight and monitor data flow between systems, channels and vendors, identify potential issues and work with technical and vendor teams on solutions to resolve data or integration discrepancies.
• Lead process workshops collaborating with application teams to identify and recommend solutions for process gaps contributing to data or integration exceptions within loan originations and decision engine apps.
3. Technology Solutions:
• Work collaboratively with application and business teams to set the technology direction, vision and strategy to enable technology solutions that will best suit their goals and objectives while maintaining data and architecture standards.
• Maintain awareness of current automation solution offerings in the IT industry, allowing to make recommendations of future architecture.
4. Risk Management:
• Analyze and capture current state data flows working with integration and application teams to identify data flow risks and opportunities.
• Recommend best practice improvements.
5. Quality Assurance:
• Work with Quality Management teams on strategies to improve enhancement testing and enhancement delivery quality to prevent production discrepancies and failures.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
• Minimum 8 years progressive related experience in software development and architecture principles with object-oriented languages
• Knowledge of loan origination applications, decision engine, pricing engine applications (Blaze, Daybreak, Tibco preferred).
• Expertise in integration patterns (APIs, SOA, microservices, ESB)
• Database and Java development experience
• SDLC methodologies (Agile, DevOps)
• Knowledge of data modeling, database systems, and data governance
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Automotive finance industry experience a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineer, Information Technology or related field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect is a plus.
• Experience with Loan origination system replacements / assessments and integration project implementations.
• Experience with Blaze decision engine and any pricing tools
• Advanced knowledge of application and system integration architecture, approaches, techniques, and technologies
