Role
Reporting to the Journeyperson Electrician, the role of Electrical Apprentice is to install new and maintain low and high voltage equipment in a substation. Under this role the Electrical Apprentice will gain hands-on experience with the installation of ground grids, structural steel’s erection and the repair and assembly of power system equipment. The Electrical Apprentice is responsible to assist with the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of high voltage transformers and all other related equipment on a substation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the day to day activities involved with substation construction
- Work with high voltage equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, and switches, voltage regulators, capacitor banks, P&C (protection and control) equipment and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition systems) systems, human machine interfaces (HMI) and remote terminal units (RTUs)
- Install time sensitive network and power cabling, including connection, location and documentation of all circuits, as required
- Perform preventive equipment maintenance; scheduled, unscheduled and emergency requests
- Perform maintenance, predictive inspections and testing on substation equipment
- Develop work scopes, draft procedures and perform routine repairs
- Comply, at all times, with Rising Edge Technologies operating and maintenance safe work practices, procedures and standards
- Develop and maintain test and maintenance reports while working under Journey PSE/Electrician
- Work with Journeyperson Electrician to install ground grids, power system equipment’s assembly and erection of structural steel
Requirements
Qualifications
- Indentured into Electrical or PSE trade
- Have knowledge of the Electrical Utility Code (E.U.C Safety Codes Act) and Occupational Health and Safety rules as they relate to the Electrician role
- Have a valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office and computer based test equipment would be an asset
- Must meet pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements
- Must be able to work comfortably at heights

This position is to allow a Maintenance Tech Apprentice the opportunity to learn OD Maintenance Shop operations and OD company culture. The apprentice position is part-time to allow students to have flexible work hours while attending school. The apprentice will learn to repair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and practical manner, including performing preventative maintenance, general repairs, troubleshooting, and electronic diagnostics. The apprentice will also be tasked with a project throughout the internship and will be required to present on the project at the conclusion of the apprenticeship. Upon completion, the apprentice may be considered for future employment.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Learn maintenance shop operations by shadowing team members and various positions, such as Maintenance Technicians, Parts Coordinators, Supervisors, and Managers.
+ Learn to repair company equipment effectively and safely.
+ Learn to d iagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown or failure to a motor truck or related equipment
+ Gain knowledge of precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, digital multi-meters, calibrators, and other electronic diagnostic tools
+ When applicable, learn basic techniques of welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete truck repairs
+ Gain a basic understanding of DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervised responsibilities may include:
+ Work within hospital radiology environment to evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs.
+ Complete Preventative Maintenance on designated equipment.
+ Perform safety and environmental inspections ensuring compliance to Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines.
+ Complete necessary service and repair documentation following hospital protocol and GEHC policies & procedures.
+ Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
+ Learn and ensure proper care of tools and test equipment and ensure calibration. Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment.
+ Mentor with and assist more experienced technicians on progressive repairs and resolution, and will work as a member of the local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within his/her assigned area
+ Complete all planned Quality and Compliance training within the defined deadlines. Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization.
+ Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ AS, BS, MS degree, military education, certificate program, current student with less than 12 months from completion OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 months experience servicing electronic, IT or mechanical equipment.
+ Previous experience and/or course work in which you have successfully interpreted schematic diagrams and performed troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment following current standards, code, and procedures to ensure safe and effective operation of those devices.
+ Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and perform effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.

+ Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.

**Responsibilities**
The Crash Champions Skills Training Education Program (STEP) is a hands-on apprenticeship that pairs you with experienced professionals. You'll get paid while fine-tuning your skills and working towards becoming a collision repair technician - a career field with earning potential up to (and beyond) six figures.
Please note that you do not need any collision experience or training to be considered for this role. Experience is a bonus, but not required!

**Core Responsibilities:**
+ Learn the industry standard of the manufacturer's original specification with high quality controls
+ Create a complete repair plan, vehicle disassembly and reassembly, plastic bumper repair, and minor panel dent repair
+ Repair more complex dents by working and reshaping sheet metal, application of body filler, and advancing to two-sided plastic repair, larger panel damage
+ Learn the basics of structural damage identification and how to access repair procedures
+ Properly set-up and anchor structural repairs, as well as three-dimensional measuring of the vehicle structure
+ Learn the various methods of welding/joining materials and tools
+ Fine tune body filler and metal repairs, with the addition of stud-gun and other metal straightening tools and techniques, cutting and replacing small structural components
+ Proper set-up and techniques for MIG welding on steel vehicles, to complete the I-CAR Weld Certification
**Qualifications**
+ 18 years of age
+ Ability to work full-time, 40 hours a week
+ Lift up to 50 pounds
+ Ability to stand for long periods of time
+ Have a valid driver's license
+ Regularly position or move self to fix and repair over and under vehicles
+ Ability to effectively communicate and take direction from superiors
+ Ability to read and understand a work order
+ High School Diploma/ GED preferred

**The Opportunity**
The **Org & Workforce Design Apprentice** supports association-wide efforts to optimize structures, operating models, processes, and workforce capabilities. This role operates from macro to micro, connecting organization design to job architecture, role evolution, and skill strategy-influencing the future of work. A developing strategic thinker, the ideal candidate collaborates with senior leaders, HRBPs and cross-functional partners to drive effectiveness.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.

**The Work Ahead**
+ **Org Design & Leadership Effectiveness** Participate in the design of structures aligned to strategy. Partnering with team to support executives to improve team dynamics, decision-making, and collaboration. Participate in alignment and culture-shaping initiatives.
+ **Operating Model Redesign** Participate in the assessment of current-state structures, governance, and capabilities; support the delivery of future-state models that boost agility, efficiency, and value.
+ **Job & Role Design (AI-Enabled)** Use AI tools to analyze jobs, extract competencies, and forecast role evolution. Participates in inclusive, data-driven job designs aligned with future needs and performance expectations aligned to business transformations.
+ **Skill Strategy (AI-Enabled)** Conduct AI-powered skills gap analysis to identify critical and adjacent capabilities. Collaborate with the learning team to build reskilling pathways and align L&D programs with strategic skill priorities **.**
+ **Co-Creation** Facilitate planning workshops and documenting key outcomes with stakeholders.
+ **Integration & Risk Management** Align org planning with HR, Finance, Risk, CRE, and Association Planning. Ensure processes meet compliance, performance, and risk standards.
**What** **you'll** **do:**
+ Collect and analyze data related to organizational structures, roles, and skills and delivers results and recommendations to team members and team leaders.
+ Research., support and provide feedback on the implementation and use of organizational design tools and frameworks.
+ Provides HRBPs and leaders organizational design support, such as providing input into org chart creation and providing feedback and recommendations on skills alignment.
+ Document and provide feedback on current-state organizational structures, governance, and capabilities.
+ Participates in projects by analyzing jobs and roles to extract competencies and provide feedback to key stakeholders.
+ Participate in facilitating planning workshops and documenting key outcomes with stakeholders.
+ Partner with the team members on creating alignment and supporting integration of organizational planning with HR and other functions.
+ Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
**What you have:**
+ Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
+ 2 years in organizational design, workforce strategy, or related fields.

**Compensation range:** The salary range for this position is: $63,590- $121,530 **.**
