Anderselite are seeking a talented and motivated architectural technician to join a team and contribute to the design and development of a wide range of housing projects at all stages of design from masterplanning through to detailed design, combining architecture and urban design. As an architectural technician, you will work closely with architects and the design team to create innovative and sustainable housing developments that meet the needs of our clients and the community.

Summary of Role.

The role includes input at various stages of the design process from feasibility layouts through to planning applications. Working alongside project leaders to prepare full, outline and reserved matters planning application packs, including drawings, 3D visualisations and graphic outputs. As the role develops over time you will provide increasing inputs to design and the project process with clear opportunities to gain experience and progress.

The Senior Architectural Designer will work closely with clients, engineers, and urban planners to translate visions into buildable realities. Strong proficiency in design software, excellent visual communication skills, and a deep understanding of building codes and zoning regulations are essential.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the design process for architectural and urban planning projects from concept to construction documentation.
  • Developing master plans, site plans, and detailed architectural drawings using CAD and BIM software.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand project requirements, design goals, and budget constraints.
  • Conducting site analysis, feasibility studies, and zoning research.
  • Coordinating with engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Preparing presentation materials, including renderings, models, and design narratives.
  • Ensuring designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Mentoring junior designers and providing technical guidance.
  • Researching and applying innovative design strategies and materials.
  • Participating in client meetings and public presentations.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution is required, along with a minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience. California Architectural license is a strong plus. Demonstrated experience in urban design, master planning, and sustainable design practices is highly desirable. Proficiency in software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite is mandatory. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are crucial for this role, enabling effective collaboration within the team and with external partners in a hybrid setting.
