- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Manage financial reporting deliverables for Regulation A Tier 2 filings (including 1-K and 1-SA), including GAAP-compliant footnotes and supporting schedules

Technical Accounting & Compliance

Requirements

- Demonstrated experience managing financial audits and preparing financial disclosures at a public or pre-IPO company.
- Strong technical accounting background with proficiency in US GAAP and experience drafting whitepapers/memos.

Systems Unlimited, Inc is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to join our Iowa City administrative team.
Qualifications
- A four-year degree in accounting or related field is strongly preferred
- Extensive accounting experience, including identifying issues, solving problems, and implementing solutions is required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for complex tasks and with a variety of accounting systems
- History of having managed others and having led a high performing team
This is an salaried, in-office position with regular office hours of Monday-Friday, 8AM - 4:30PM. Occasional travel to outlying service areas may be required.
Position Description
The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager position is a team player, an active problem-solver, and someone who is open to new ideas. A successful candidate can provide both strategic and operational support to the CFO and work collaboratively with members of the Accounting Department as well as other departments across the agency.
You will make a genuine difference in the lives of others, particularly those who have physical, intellectual, and behavioral disabilities, by overseeing and participating in the general accounting operations of the organization.
You will ensure adherence to GAAP and make recommendations for process improvements to ensure the accounting team is operating efficiently and effectively.
In this role, you will primarily:
Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes with required documentation
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
You will also assist with:
Preparing and reviewing financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Budgeting and forecasting
Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Other accounting duties as assigned
