C2’s client, a well-established, design-driven marketing company offering full-service print, mail and fulfillment, seeks a sharp, witty Art Director to support internal marketing and creative projects on an as-needed basis. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for a hands-on AD who can “run with it” (and doesn’t mind a capabilities booklet one day and some fun digital work the next), thrives in a “roll with the punches” culture, and brings both humor and hustle to the table.

You’ll often work closely alongside the Creative Director, sometimes collaborating, and especially stepping up to cover while the Creative Director is out of office the week of November 10–14. Expect an easygoing, highly adaptable team that values both talent and camaraderie.


Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Contract (project/on-demand assignments with critical coverage while the Creative Director is OOO November 10–14)

Location: Hybrid in Waunakee, WI (some remote flexibility)

Compensation: $35-$40 commensurate with experience, W2 through C2

Benefits: C2 talent working 30+ hours/week for 30 consecutive business days are eligible for medical, dental, and optional vision insurance, life insurance and PTO accrual; 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match available for enrollment after 90 days.

Technology: Talent must provide their own hardware and software. Key platforms: Active Campaign, Asana, MS Office or G-Suite, plus other standard marketing and productivity tools as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a mix of print and digital projects for internal marketing initiatives
  • Elevate client’s brand collateral: Capabilities Book, multi-format print pieces, and digital assets
  • Collaborate with leadership and the Creative Director to translate creative briefs into standout visual solutions
  • Step up as lead creative contact while the Creative Director is out of office the week of November 10–14, ensuring seamless creative execution
  • Roll with shifting priorities and pivot seamlessly between task types and mediums
  • Bring humor, flexibility, and resourcefulness to every project – no big egos needed here
  • Wear multiple hats as needed, supporting everything from ideation to final production


Qualifications

Required:

  • Approximately 10 years’ hands-on experience in art direction, with flexibility for exceptional portfolios or varied backgrounds
  • Mastery of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Proven background in creative agency, in-house, or print/media production environments
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently (and asynchronously when needed) under clear direction
  • Strong portfolio of executed work demonstrating visual strategy and real, production-ready deliverables
  • Funny, easygoing, and comfortable collaborating with multiple personalities and roles, including close partnership with the Creative Director


Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with AI tools for creative work (generative design, asset creation, etc.)
  • Experience multi-tasking across business units or industries
  • Prior exposure to print production processes or creative operations in a print-centric business

**Role Overview:**
+ Working on mostly digital marketing channels for static ads
+ Organizational productions tasks as well
+ Understanding branding to apply to various marketing efforts
+ Collaborating with internal marketing partners and rationalize design thinking
_Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance._
Rate: $24 - $4 / hr. w2
**Responsibilities:**
+ Function as a supporting player across multiple digital marketing channels-including mostly static ads, possibly some motion or video-and varying types of projects, ranging from ad concepts, production design, template design exploration and organizational tasks.
+ Collaborate with designers, writers, creative directors, marketing strategists and business partners along the way to build and refine ideas and designs.
+ Learn new approaches, new tools and having the opportunity to influence processes and strategy in a thoughtful and meaningful way.
**Experience Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree as an Art Director, Graphic Designer or similar
+ 3-5+ years of agency or in-house experience as an Art Director or Graphic Designer in digital marketing channels
+ Proficient in Figma and Adobe CS including Photoshop and Illustrator
+ A strong portfolio that demonstrates showcases your work and demonstrates your experience
_Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range._

**Position Overview** **:**
As part of the talented Marketing team, you will bring your strong conceptualizing abilities and strong strategic problem solving to deliver highly creative design solutions that are focused on the audience's needs and our brands' goals.

Essential Functions:
+ Work closely with the Associate Creative Director to execute defined creative strategy and transform high-level client needs into engaging visuals
+ Lead the design of large and complex projects from concept to completion across a variety of marketing channels for multiple brands within Mercury portfolio
+ Present to clients and clearly communicate creative visual decisions
+ Oversee vendor execution of visual work (including photographers and animators) as they bring the campaign to life
+ Work closely with the assigned creative team members on projects or campaigns and help oversee that the art direction is executed across campaign touchpoints
+ Create and maintain design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency in all visual materials
+ Understand a client's campaign needs and translate that into a creative concept.
+ Participate and/or lead brainstorming sessions with creative teams
+ Implement stakeholder feedback and secure internal approvals
+ Meets regularly with Associate Creative Director and Creative Operations to understand upcoming initiatives for prioritization and creative workload projections
+ Ensures all projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
+ Guides and mentors designers to grow and develop their skills

Required Qualifications:
+ 4-6 years of art direction experience, with 1-3 years in a supervisory role
+ Photoshoot pre-planning and on set art direction experience required
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate campaign art direction to a team of designers
+ Strong portfolio of creative work across multiple channels, including digital, print and experiential
+ Exceptional conceptual skills with the ability to articulate creative concepts in meetings and presentation
+ Must work well under pressure, exercising good judgment as well as good interpersonal skills
+ Must have a good grasp of project time requirements to be able to meet deadlines, client expectations, and avoid over-commitments
+ Consistent attention to detail
+ Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications, Fine Arts or Design or equivalent experience
The anticipated pay range for this position is 84,500 - 136,100 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
