Position Summary
Under the direction of the Network Manager, the Apple IT Support Specialist is a dynamic and proactive professional committed to delivering comprehensive IT support in a fast-paced and demanding environment. This role requires a high level of motivation and exceptional organizational and customer service skills.
Key responsibilities include imaging and configuring Apple and Windows desktops, laptops, and deploying end-user portable devices, installing and updating software, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring seamless IT operations. Additionally, the Apple IT Support Specialist will be responsible for deploying equipment, managing inventory and IT asset retirement, documenting processes, and actively contributing to IT projects.
The successful candidate will engage directly with clients through face-to-face interactions, phone calls, e-mail, Microsoft Teams, and remote support tools, ensuring timely and effective resolution of IT issues. Senior Systems Administrators and department managers will provide guidance and direction to support the IT Specialist's integration and success in the role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deploy, maintain and support Apple OS 60% and 40% Windows OS systems
- Provide in person and remote support for Main Campus and Center users
- Image, configure, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, iPads, cell phones, and associated software/operating systems
- Install, maintain and manage cybersecurity software agents and related software
- Install, support, and maintain classroom technology equipment
- Install, maintain and manage data communication equipment and components
- Perform inventory management, asset tracking, and retirement processes
- Plan, document, and execute IT projects with a structured approach
- Event set up, support, and crewing to include board of regent's meetings, graduation ceremonies, and special events at main campus and centers
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Collaborate with team members to make recommendations for improved internal processes, and improved customer service experience
- Facilitate warranty-covered support for users
- Receive cross-training in other areas of the department and provide support in covering those areas if there is a shortage of staff, or overflow in workload
- Maintain technically current and relevant through self-directed professional reading, developing and maintaining professional contacts, professional development, and training
- Develop training material and help guides for users and support staff
- Assist with training of new hires within the department
- Maintain regular attendance
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Associate's degree in any field and 4 years of demonstrated experience providing technology support in an Apple and Windows environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience are acceptable. A+, MS MCSE, Apple Certified Support Professional, or other applicable certifications .
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- Experience providing technology support in a college or university environment
- ITIL Foundations Certification
- A+, MS MCSE, Apple Certified Support Professional, or other applicable certifications
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting Apple OS and Microsoft Windows
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience
- JAMF 200 level training
- Required to maintain a valid NM driver's license to operate University vehicles
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as required

+ Responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining server systems and infrastructure for both enterprise and cloud environments. Ensure server systems are secure, stable, and highly available.
+ Highly proficient with enterprise server management tools and possesses intermediate scripting and automation skills. Skilled in troubleshooting both Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
+ Participate in the planning, deployment, and ongoing support for enterprise server infrastructure to ensure optimum performance and scalability.
+ Possess an expert knowledge of enterprise backup solutions, performance monitoring tools, and cloud-native services.
+ This role requires a blend of technical skills, collaboration, and an understanding of both hardware and software systems.
+ Includes after-hours maintenance and on-call rotations to support critical tier1 systems.
+ Work with cross-functional teams for capacity planning, focusing on future scalability and resource optimization across all environments.
+ Please note, this position does have limited travel for summit events.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ This role requires not only hands-on expertise in Apple systems but also the ability to configure, troubleshoot, and script Apple workflows using tools such as Jamf, Intune, or other MDM platforms.
+ Experience editing configuration profiles and PLIST files, as well as contributing to minor development or integration work, is essential.
**MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline and five years Infrastructure server administration experience OR seven years of Infrastructure server engineering experience.

**Job Summary**
The Director of Apple Sales leads a diverse team, which includes technical pre-sales, business development managers, partner managers, and operations staff, to develop strategies that promote innovation, growth, and efficiency. The estimated annual pay range for this position is $10,000 - 170,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
