**SUMMARY**
Under the general direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the First Article Administrator is responsible for initializing and coordinating First Article Inspection (FAI) report documentation with Quality Control in support of product suitability
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
+ Prepare and generate first article documentation packages which include drawings, work orders, purchase orders, and material certificates, and ensure specified customer requirements are met
+ Verify accuracy of drawings and associated documentation characteristics to prevent non-conformance
+ Interface with appropriate departments to obtain additional information for product testing or inspection
+ Prepare inspection records
+ Communicate critical material problems to the concerned departments to ensure minimum impact on production schedule
+ Evaluate current work practices and make recommendations for improvements, which will enhance efficiency or improve work product

What You Will Do

  • Complete first article inspection per customer specifications and maintain appropriate records.
  • Responsible for measuring parts and reporting any findings to engineering for submission to customers in support of all validation activities or as otherwise requested.
  • Identify the appropriate measurement method and create measurement work instructions.
  • Design go/no go gauges and holding fixtures in conjunction with Quality Engineering
  • Coordinate, perform, and maintain calibration procedures.
  • Verify tool changes and process dimensions after tool modifications.
  • Perform capabilities studies, gauge repeatability and reproducibility analysis.
  • Provide statistical reports reflecting process control, process capability, and gauge repeatability.

Prior experience demonstrated with federal and state siting and permitting, specifically experience related to Article VII permitting in New York, transitioning into Article VIII, is required. The position is the lead individual for identifying permit requirements and interrelationships, scheduling permit applications, developing permitting strategies, and managing timely completion of deliverables by the Permitting Team.
The key responsibilities for the Article VIII staff environmental scientist include:
1. Identifying the appropriate New York State Public Service Commission permitting process applicable to the project in question.
2. Understanding and the ability to manage an Article VII amendment, Article VIII Application, or Part 102 application from inception to restoration closeout.
3. Understanding and the ability to manage associated federal, state, and local permitting requirements associated with the overall effort.
4. Understanding and the ability to manage compliance efforts during construction, including: SWPPP monitoring; vegetation management and restoration; rare, endangered and threatened species monitoring; invasive species management; and wetlands and waterbodies protection.
The applicant must be comfortable with presenting applications and data to the public in general, including federal, state, and municipal stakeholders and regulators.
Primarily, this position manages the preparation of documents or technical documents. Additionally, the successful candidate mentors less experienced staff and performs other duties as assigned. **Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or graduate degree in a natural resources field, environmental science, or related field from an accredited program.
+ Minimum 4 years' experience related professional experience obtaining environmental permits from various agencies.

+ Must have ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
