The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 per hour. The hours for this shift are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
**What you'll do:**
**Position Overview:**
The Assembler/Tester will be responsible for assembling and testing production hardware and incoming repair units while utilizing standard methods, processes, and procedures for both the OEM and Repairs Value Stream.
Please note, certain duties performed by this role require this position to be subject to the guidelines of our Repair Station Certificate and are subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.
**In this function you will:**
- Assemble and test detailed electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies on production, prototype, and/or returned electronic motors and actuators for aircrafts.
- Use test equipment to perform in-process testing and final Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).
- Ensure assemblies are built to written instructions or blueprint specifications and completed to scheduled delivery dates. Prioritize work to ensure business goals are met.
- Perform lock wire or safety wire processes
- Utilize hand tools such as, but not limited to, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, and other basic hand tools as required.
- Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
- Other duties as assigned. May be reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.
**Qualifications:**
**Required (Basic) Qualifications:**
- Minimum of two (2) years of mechanical assembly experience or manufacturing experience with testing.
- Must have a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, MI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). - Experience troubleshooting root-cause of electronic failures
- IPC Certified (J-STD0001,7711,A610)
**Skills:**
**Position Criteria**
- Proficient interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
- Know-how and ability to work with inspection gages, multi-meters, volt meters, force scales, torque wrenches, and test equipment and procedures.
- Knowledge of fundamental electrical components and mechanical physics. Ability to identify wire by color code.
- Ability to read, understand and follow product specifications, drawings, and work orders in English.
- Solder certification will be provided. Prior experience preferred in IPC certification J-STD001, 7711, A610.
- Ability to cross-train on a variety of hardware/sub-assemblies and test procedures and assist in training others.
- Ability to navigate various computer systems.
- Position includes standing, bending, twisting and the capability to lift / move up to 40lbs.

+ Interpret orders for stamping of Nuclear, Navy and commercial nameplates.
+ Perform preparation and painting operations in accordance with QA and customer requirements.
+ Work from specifications, drawings or sketches to perform hand or machine lapping of any valve or nozzle seat, inserts and other parts.
+ As necessary, operate two or more machines simultaneously.
+ Use appropriate lapping compounds for specified surface flatness and mix various compounds accordingly. Also use special polishing compounds to attain high degree of surface finish.
+ Use any equipment required to perform the duties of the function including operation of flow testing equipment.
+ Daily interface daily with engineering, manufacturing, production control and Sales regarding customer requirements and valve problems to insure on-time deliveries are met

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ High School Education or GED equivalency.
+ 1 year manufacturing experience.
+ Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
+ Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (crimpers, soldering iron, wire strippers, brazing equipment, etc.) and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc.)
+ Ability and willingness to operate high temperature ovens and furnaces.
+ Ability and willingness to pass Visual Acuity Exam as necessary.
+ Ability and willingness to obtain Solder, Braze, and Electro-Static discharge certification as required.
**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**
+ Assemble parts according to process sheet/print instructions.
+ Perform electrical, mechanical, magnetic testing as required (i.e. - dielectric, meggar, hipot, etc.)
+ Perform in-process hi-pot testing; Perform basic set up of fixtures.
+ Perform vapor blasting as required; Perform inventory counts and verification. - Assist with proto-type or first time builds with guidance from higher level employees.
+ Assist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheets.
+ Review expiration date of materials to ensure materials & equipment to ensure all are current.
+ Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products,
+ Possess inspection stamp as required.
+ Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
+ Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
+ Perform basic Oracle transactions as required.
+ Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.

The hourly range for this position is range $28.00 - $5.40 per hour. However, the general starting rate is 30.00. The hours for second shift are as follows; 1:45 pm - 10:15 pm. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
**What you'll do:**
Assemble, teardown and test routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product line that includes commercial and military.
Reports to the Production Supervisor/Manager in CSO and will also receive direction from department lead.
+ Teardown, assembly and test mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies. Ensure activities are performed correctly and proper tooling and documentation is used. Requires little to no supervision.
+ Organize data and prepare test reports.
+ Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate.
+ Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
+ Must have the ability to utilize hand tools such as, but not limited to, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, test boxes or specialized test equipment as needed.
+ Proficient interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
+ Material preparation including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
+ Perform cross training when required.
+ Proactively identify and help assist in process improvements
+ Conduct in-person testing as required.

**Qualifications:**
Basic Qualifications
+ High school diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
+ Minimum of 4 years experience in aerospace manufacturing
+ Minimum of 4 years minimum experience in assembly and testing of hydraulic and electromechanical actuators and working knowledge of hydraulic test equipment.
+ No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA will be considered for this position.
