JOB SUMMARY

To assemble and prepare merchandise for delivery to customers' homes in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, quality and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and assemble product in accurate zones in the warehouse; utilizes proper equipment and material-handling techniques to minimize product damage.
o Look for special notations, such as "leave in factory packaging", even exchanges, open goods, shop repairs and follow processing guidelines.
o Confirm merchandise was picked correctly, according to delivery paperwork. This is done by comparing the pick label which is attached to the box/package to the manufacturing label on the box/packaging and then, finally, to the delivery truck report.
o Unbox and unwrap product. Adhere to proper cutting techniques to ensure product is not damaged. Pull all staples and excess packaging.
o Examines merchandise for manufacturing defects and/or minor repairable damage, such as dents, nicks, crushed corners, missing finish, etc.
o Reports manufacturing defects to manager and requests replacements to be picked from existing inventory.
o Brings merchandise with minor concerns to appropriate person for repairs to be performed.
o Assembles merchandise for delivery, following all applicable manufacturer and company instructions. This entails putting drawer handles on, placing glass in curios and hutches, setting up beds, etc.
o Clean, dust, clean inside drawers and Windex all glass and mirrors.
o Place merchandise in appropriate cage as needed and assigned. Maintain the order of delivery stops as indicated on delivery report, i.e., first item on the line is going to be delivered last, etc.
o Double checks that all product on the delivery print out is in the cage, assembled and prepped to go out.
o Remove and dispose of packing material in accordance with company's procedures. Bring all cardboard and foam to designated recycling area in the warehouse.
- Assists in TV production by building props.
- Reports promptly errors found to management and assists in resolving the errors
- Provides feedback to management for possible improvements.
- Assists with training and development of other associates, including on-the-job training for new associates.
- Participates in training sessions, which will improve and reinforce own knowledge and skills.
- Attend Department / company meetings as required.
- Maintains a safe working environment by keeping racks, aisles and work areas organized and clean and conducts walk around safety checks.
- Adheres to company safety policy by conducting operations in a manner that promotes safety, such as using personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times required, operating cardboard and garbage compactor in a safe manner, un-boxing using a utility knife in a safe manner, adhering to safe lifting techniques, and following proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors.
- Operates manual and mechanical equipment, such as dollies and/or hand trucks, in a safe and efficient manner to move or hoist product to proper area/location.
- Reports promptly any machinery concerns to management.
- Provides total customer satisfaction through interaction, cooperation and working with associates and managers in all departments. This includes translating with non-English speaking customers if able.
- Complies with all applicable company health, safety and quality standards, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Reports to management potential safety issues, hazards or violations.
- Assists in maintaining security by reporting suspicious activity to management.

Responsibilities:
- Read, interpret and work from blueprints, layouts, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
- Rotate through tasks for specific production processes
- Performs all duties in a professional manner while maintaining the highest standard of productivity and quality.

Mechanical Assembly position - This position is heavy assembly using pneumatic hand tools with some use of hoists and cranes. The position requires minimum 5 years experience with skill Mechanical Assembly.
The Assembler III assembles units for final assembly and shipment to customers. The Assembler receives specific work assignments under limited supervision and resolves most problems with limited supervisory assistance. All work is subject to final inspection and test to insure that the final product meets customer requirements and to control excess labor and material expense. The Assembler is expected to practice and adhere to the Company's Six Sigma principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary:
Reviews job orders (written or verbal).
Lays out final assembly components to insure proper build.
Fits structural components to radiator assemblies by: Building frames (bolted).
Setting fans, if equipped (bolted-measurements critical).
Marrying unit (core and tank from Cooling Section to frame and fan assembly).
Testing motor/fan (if equipped).
Preparing unit for shipping. Inspects product for defects.
Cleans and maintains work area (daily) equipment and other tools of the trade.
Trains Assembler II - Back Section Works in a safe manner at all times.
Insures that all work is done in accordance with and adheres to IEA's ISO and Quality standards.
Physical Demands: Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 100 (infrequently, assisted lifting), 50 (occasionally), 25 (frequently). Maximum moving requirement (pounds): 300 with assistance. Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent standing, walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, squatting, and twisting upper body; infrequent sitting. Working at heights off the ground up to: 20 feet. Vision requirements: Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.
Work Setting: Work location: Metal fabrication/assembly shop and indoor/outdoor storage areas. Exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment including overhead cranes, sharp/heavy materials, inclement weather. Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes.
Position Requirements: Key skills, abilities and knowledge:
Ability to read and understand job requirements, shop drawings, and blueprints. Ability to measure build tolerances for proper fit and optimum operation. Knowledge of properties of core materials, structural metals and related materials (OJT). Equivalent skills and knowledge to Assembler III - Cooling Section (OJT). Skill in assembly using personal tools and shop equipment and related tools (OJT). Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices. Ability to communicate and work effectively with others. Experience: Minimum of five or more years of manufacturing or related experience is desirable. Experience in heavy assembly, use of cranes, large pneumatic tools, complicated mechanical assemblies etc. Company will train employees on specific job requirements.
