The Assembly Lead will assist the Warehouse Manager to plan, organize and monitor the process of product assembly ensuring finished product is assembled to specifications. The Assembly Lead actively works with the assembly team to complete daily tasks.  

Requirements:

General Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily work assignments required to fulfill production orders.
  • Pull product from inventory according to purchase order documents and assemble to specifications.
  • Monitor quality controls to ensure accuracy of finished product. Assign re-work or re-training as needed. 
  • Uses ERP system to create reports and update status.
  • Ensures the assembly area is neat, organized and equipment is operational.
  • Trains employees and ensures distribution center staff follow policies and guidelines. Reports employee progress, discipline issues, safety concerns or injuries to management.
  • Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement. 
  • Update procedures and processes
  • Approve time off and timecard changes for assembly team

Skills & Qualifications

  • Concise and professional communication when dealing with colleagues and all business partners.
  • Able to solve problems and apply new ideas. 
  • Effectively plans, prioritizes, and delegates tasks to ensure all deadlines are met on time.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, actively listens to colleagues, and works collaboratively in teams to achieve goals, solve problems, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Efficient with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Physical Demand:

  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for long periods at a time. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Vision ability including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in shipping/receiving is a must.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a leadership role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred.

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented **Assembly Team Lead** to support and coordinate daily operations of our Assembly Line during the first shift. Reporting to the Area Supervisor, you will lead a team of associates, ensure adherence to quality standards, and maintain efficiency across processes. Your expertise will play a key role in training new team members and maintaining operational excellence through lean manufacturing principles.
+ Collaborate with the Area Supervisor to manage and prioritize daily assembly line activities.
+ Be proficient in all departmental processes; act as a trainer and mentor for new hires and cross-training initiatives.
+ Implement and promote BPS (Business Process Standards) principles for continuous improvement and process optimization.
+ Ensure timely delivery of components and finished units to meet production schedules.
+ Read and interpret work instructions, product drawings, and special handling sheets (SHS).
+ Use manual/power tools and measuring devices to assemble appliances and perform functional tests.
+ Inspect finished products for quality, identify defects, and manage non-conforming materials appropriately.
+ Rework units as needed to meet quality standards.
+ Support a safe and organized work environment through adherence to best practices in material handling
**Qualifications**
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ 2+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or HVAC environment.
+ Previous team lead or leadership experience strongly preferred.
+ Strong understanding of assembly tools, processes, and work instructions.
+ Ability to read and interpret product drawings, standard work, and job travelers.
+ Proven ability to lead a team of 10-15 employees in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Comfortable working cross-functionally with quality, engineering, and support teams.
+ Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of problem-solving in real-time.
+ Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
+ Must be flexible and able to work overtime or other shifts as needed

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Assembly Team Lead - 3rd Shift. We are a leader in the design and production of critical power distribution products for many specific segements. The Production Assembler- 3rd Shift role offers a 32.5 hour work week with a $3/hour shift premium. Hours are 10:00pm-5:00am and will start Monday night and go till Saturday morning. 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Full Benefits, 401k plan, PTO, and paid holidays is offered to you day one of employment.
The hourly rate for this position is $1.46 plus 3.00 shift premium per hour.

**What you'll do:**
- Provide assistance as needed to the operators to improve the ability to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Using the reports available, monitor the progress of projects on the production floor to ensure on time delivery to the customer expectations.
- Provide feedback to management on the matters that impede the progress of management's objectives of providing a harmonious, safe and productive work environment.
- Keep all work areas clean, organized and presentable.
- Demonstration and support of compliance with all company guidelines, including safety, attendance, and punctuality.
- Support supervisor in driving accountability across departments.
- Maintain Visual Management communications boards.
- Perform periodic 6s audits of various plant operations.
- Communicate shift status to Production Management as well as opposite shift lead and Production Supervisors (if applicable).

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- 2 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing/operations environment preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Lean 6S (5S + Safety) experience preferred
