Summary:

  • Assemble and erect complex precision mechanical assemblies and complicated mechanisms having critical dimensional specifications and operating relationships. The fitting of components, calibration of operating units, alignment, and/or balancing of completed assemblies requires a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and assembly techniques plus diversified long-term experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect parts for proper machining finish and dimensions and check and test sub-assemblies and units.
  • Work from complicated and detailed drawings, specifications, engineering drawings, sketches, bills of materials, production orders, and instructions.
  • On-the-floor engineering to design, machine, fabricate, and draw mounting devices, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical line routing. This will require a broad knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic components, schematics, and operations.
  • Operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts, operate lathes, mills, and grinders to machine or fabricate parts needed to build the systems.
  • Confer with supervisor, engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve assembly problems.
  • Proceed with minimum instruction and supervision. Completed assemblies are subject to inspection and test. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Understand the ISO Quality Manual and applicable processes.
  • Other duties as may be assigned that are trained for and qualified to do.
  • Adhere to company's safety policies to create a safe work environment for employees.

Primary Objective:

Assemble MTS hydro-mechanical subsystems.

Major Areas of Accountability:

Assembles hydro-mechanical subsystems according to engineering blueprints and specifications, bills of materials and manufacturing process documentation.

Essential Functions
  • Disassembly, cleaning, or re-assembly of pumps.
  • Receive pumps, generate parts order, perform teardown and condition reports.
  • Documents all observations during disassembly and generates failure analysis reports.

  • Checks power and hand tools for proper operation.
  • Ensure that all Procedures and Instructions are followed during the assembly process.
  • Communicate all issues to Leads/Supervisor on a timely manner.

Requirements

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician responsible for assembling, setting up, and ensuring the proper function of packaging machinery. This role involves working with mechanical components, performing light wiring, and integrating pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hands-on assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation setting. This position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • ssemble packaging machine components and ensure proper mechanical function.
  • Perform mechanical machine setup, light wiring, and pneumatic/hydraulic assembly.
  • Follow production schedules and scope of work to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain technical and operational documentation for assembly processes.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues as needed.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and service teams to ensure quality assembly.
  • Comply with company ERP system requirements for reporting and tracking job tasks.
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • bility to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • bility to lift and move up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Physical capability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb as required in a production setting.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Prior experience in packaging machinery, industrial automation, or manufacturing is a plus.

Work Environment & Schedule:
  • Production floor environment with exposure to machinery and assembly tools.
  • Standard hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (flexible schedule).
  • Occasional travel required (5-10% annually).
