Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex personal injury cases from intake through trial or settlement. This role requires excellent litigation, negotiation, and client advocacy skills, with a proven track record of favorable case results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a full caseload of personal injury matters, including auto accidents, premises liability, nursing home negligence, Medical Malpractice, and wrongful death claims.
- Conduct all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trial.
- Develop case strategies, evaluate settlement value, and provide legal counsel to clients on their rights and legal options.
- Lead and supervise paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff in case preparation and management.
- Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel and insurance companies.
- Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings, and mediations.
- Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery responses, and trial briefs.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure high-quality service and legal guidance.
- Stay current with relevant laws, court decisions, and industry trends affecting personal injury litigation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in New Mexico and in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation.
- Proven trial experience with a track record of successful outcomes.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume caseloads while delivering quality results.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Client-focused with a commitment to ethical legal practice.
Preferred:
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) a plus.
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, Smart Advocate).
