Industry Nine (Asheville, NC) is seeking a full-time Athlete and Events Manager to maximize the ROI on our team of world-class athletes around the world. This critical role will be responsible for managing and scouting new athlete talent, monitoring performance, and increasing consumer aspiration and brand relevance through story-telling, content output, and competition support . In addition, this position will lend a supporting role in our event marketing strategy via logistical preparation, brand representation, and athlete engagement at a selection of high-profile events during the season. • Athlete Management: Utilization of all athletes within our portfolio and identifying emerging talent.

• Contract Management: Negotiation skills to map and define athlete and event contracts, while ensuring a clear understanding of expectations and performance monitoring that yield mutually positive results.

• Media Support: Assist marketing team in content generation, and analyzing performance on our social channels, specifically through events and athlete content.

• Communication: Maintain positive and consistent communication with internal teams and athletes by setting expectations, deadlines and presenting opportunities as they develop.

• Brand Representation: Ensure high-level standards in athlete brand representation, and performance.

• Collaborative Production: Actively partner with content producers and athletes to generate and fine-tune media content, ensuring it meets the unique requirements of each specific distribution channel.

Experience in fiscal management, time-management under competing priorities, and the ability to travel or work flexible hours will be key to success in this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field and four years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree preferred.

Familiarity with NCAA rules governing academic progress toward degree completion, including requirements for eligibility and degree certification preferred. Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant and Teamworks Academics to track eligibility and academic progress preferred.

Additional Requirements:

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.

GNAC and NCAA required learning modules completed within 30 days of the job start date.

UA Safe Title IX certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.

Job Summary

The Athlete Services/Operations Intern is responsible for supporting warehouse responsibilities at our Louisville, Colorado warehouse location as well as assisting the Athlete Services team in event specific inboxes. We are seeking a student pursuing their Bachelor's degree who is comfortable in a warehouse setting and able to assist in customer service correspondence.

Overview

• Assist with Athlete Services post-race shipping requests, including making labels through FedEx, packing shipments in the warehouse, and shipping them through FedEx
• Assist with general event inboxes as needed; Answering customer services tickets through the platform D365
• Assist with IRONKiDS (emails, ordering, shipping, etc.)

At the foundation of the Digital Athlete project is our OpenSim software, a powerful and extensible software system to create and visualize simulations of human and animal movement (opensim.stanford.edu). The free and open-source software package is one of the premier biomechanics simulators, used by thousands of researchers around the world in fields ranging from robotics to biomedicine. For example, the software is used to help predict how to improve running performance, design exoskeletons to augment human performance and plan surgery for children with gait pathologies. The underlying OpenSim API is written in C++ and the GUI is written in Java. We also have interfaces in Python and MATLAB. Your role will be to develop new tools to support the growing needs of the biomechanics and sports science communities by improving the performance and functionality of Digital Athlete software, including OpenSim.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The software engineer will undertake a wide variety of development projects:

• Develop a mobile application for real-time movement analysis during activities like running, jumping, and cutting.
• Create a compelling and straightforward user experience for researchers to visualize simulations of movement and create their own custom studies of movement (e.g., to predict joint loading during an athletic maneuver of interest).
• Develop a robust user experience in Python and make other improvements to facilitate uptake of our biomechanics software by the machine learning community
• Conduct software performance profiling and benchmarking to find ways to reduce computation time and push the bounds of the types of simulations that are possible.

Additional roles and details:

• Participate in OpenSim software development work at the API and GUI levels, designing and implementing new tools to support our worldwide collaborators.
• Apply professional development practices to our software, both for new code and for correcting deficiencies in old code. This includes design, documentation, testing, portability, maintainability, adherence to standards, and egoless participation in team code reviews both as subject and reviewer.
• Generate test cases/harnesses to target performance bottlenecks.
• Serve as a leader-by-example to academic programmers and Stanford doctoral students to help them learn best professional coding practices.
• Support external development teams who are using OpenSim by quickly answering questions online and in person at workshops and responding to feature requests and bug reports.
• Work with the project team to understand the various user communities served by OpenSim and match coding decisions to the needs of our users.
