The anticipated salary range for this role is between $190,000.00 and $225,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. **Overview**
SMBC is seeking an experienced Audit Director with a minimum of 10 years' experience in the banking and finance/technology industry to conduct audit coverage for the firm's cybersecurity and other related technology controls. Reporting to the Cybersecurity Audit Team Head, the Audit Director will be responsible for (i) conducting cybersecurity and other related technology audits, ensuring work is performed in accordance with IIA standards and Internal Audit Department (IAD) policies and procedures, and (ii) supporting the Cybersecurity Audit Team Head in the execution of their duties. In addition, they will (i) support IAD Management team in helping to identify areas of coverage for planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of an internal audit program covering cybersecurity and technology related areas across the Americas Division and (ii) conduct regular continuous monitoring activities covering cybersecurity and technology related risks and related processes and controls within a prescribed timeframe.
When acting as the Auditor in Charge, the individual will be assigned an audit team (2-4 individuals from both the North America and EMEA IT Audit teams) depending on the size and complexity of the audit.
**Role Responsibilities**
+ Conduct regular audits of cybersecurity and technology related areas assessing adherence to firm and regulatory requirements and assessing design, operating effectiveness and sustainability of associated controls.
+ Create audit issues and reports that clearly articulate results, conclusions and recommendations for review with senior audit management and auditees.
+ Challenge the ongoing coverage of cybersecurity and technology related areas and present ideas for improvement.
+ Facilitate risk issue tracking to promote timely remediation.
+ Track and validate closure of issues raised by IAD, external auditors, regulators, and self-identified by stakeholders, including recommending additional actions when necessary.
+ Work collaboratively with colleagues and auditees to identify risk concerns and agree reasonable solutions.
+ Forge strong partnerships with colleagues in other technology and control functions including legal, compliance, data security and risk management to promote front-to-back collaboration across risk assessment and findings remediation.
+ Partner with audit colleagues in other business verticals and/or geographies to share best practices and drive greater consistency.
+ Seek out opportunities to engage with stakeholders outside of formal audit periods to drive deeper relationships.
+ Stay up-to-date with evolving industry/regulatory changes impacting the business and participate in appropriate control forums.
+ Conduct regular Continuous Monitoring activities and auditable entity updates.
+ Recognize the confidential nature of IAD communications and access to information; exercise discipline in protecting the confidentiality and security of information in accordance with IAD policies and procedures.
**Qualifications and Skills**
+ Minimum of 10 years of Cybersecurity/audit experience in the banking and/or technology industry.
+ Knowledge and experience in various Technology and Cybersecurity domains, e.g., Identity and Access Management, Vulnerability Management, etc.
+ Knowledge of cybersecurity related risks (i.e., Governance, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover, Supply Chain, and Demand Management).
+ Knowledge of industry relevant standards (e.g., NIST, CRI) and related regulatory expectations (e.g., NYS DFS 500, FFIEC).
+ Knowledge of audit techniques, risk and internal controls assessment, and workpaper standards. Ability to manage and execute audits, from planning to audit closing.
+ Strong strategic thinking skills including the ability to identify and assess technology related risks.
+ Ability to act as trusted advisor to senior management using discretion and sound judgment in identifying, analyzing, and reporting results.
+ Excellent communication (both verbal and written), presentation and professional skills including the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
+ Enthusiastic and self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, MIS, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

**About the Role:**
Global Commercial Services issues a wide range of proprietary corporate and small business cards and provides services to U.S. businesses, including payment and expense management, banking and non-card financing products. GCS also issues proprietary corporate cards and provides services to select global corporate clients. The GCS Audit team within IAG is responsible for conducting risk-based assurance and advisory reviews of GCS.
We are seeking an Audit Director who is passionate about advancing and growing our audit coverage across the Global Commercial Services (GCS) portfolio. The GCS Products Director role will be responsible for leading audit coverage of the following organizations within GCS:
+ Corporate and B2B Solutions Product Management
+ Small Business Card Product Management and Banking
+ Commercial Lending and Product Analytics
+ Product Development and Enterprise Solutions
+ Product Operations
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead a team to execute audits in the GCS Products portfolio in conformance with professional and department standards, budgets, and deadlines
+ Plan, execute and oversee audits and issue validations ensuring adequate workpaper quality and effective stakeholder challenge and escalation where necessary
+ Communicate audit objectives, scope, risks, and findings articulately and with impact to individuals at various levels of business management
+ Develop and maintain collaborative senior stakeholder relationships across the enterprise to perform effective business monitoring
+ Self-starter with passion for continuous innovation with a view to drive organizational improvements and impacts
+ Has the ability to work with unstructured tasks and provide a structured output to amplify IAG's coverage of the GCS products
+ Enable the deployment and optimal utilization of data analytics on all applicable assignments
+ Effectively teach, coach, and develop team members in all aspects of the audit methodology
+ Assume performance management responsibility for assigned staff.

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 7 years of relevant experience in audit or other relevant role in the financial services, risk management, banking, or card products industry
+ BA or BS in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent degree
+ Experience auditing commercial banking products and services including product development and management
+ Ability to break-down a complex problem into components, process knowledge and risk/control knowledge, and communicate issues and control recommendations with transparency, integrity and impact
+ Effectively works independently, within a team and across teams in a fast-paced environment to drive business results, utilizing related project management skills, employing creative thinking, and the ability to work on competing priorities
+ Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects and provide developmental feedback to team
+ Demonstrated ability to manage people in a way that inspires, develops, and delivers results
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver high quality, actionable feedback to client management on control issues and potential solutions to close gaps

**Preferred Qualifications**

**Role Description**
SMBC is seeking an experienced Audit Director with a minimum of 15 years of experience working in financial services specifically supporting Global Markets, to lead audit coverage of finance related Product Control function within the Internal Audit Department (IAD). The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex audits as an Auditor in Charge, ensuring work is performed in accordance with IIA standards and IAD policies and procedures, and supporting the Team Lead in the execution of their duties.
**Role Responsibilities:**
- Lead and effectively execute high quality and risk based audits of Product Control function which involves extensive knowledge over valuation of capital markets products.
- Understand the trading desks risk profiles and effectively challenge adequacy of Liquidity/ Model/ Valuation reserves and independent price testing (IPV) for fixed income securities, structured products and derivatives.
- Effectively communicate with stakeholder and audit senior management to clearly articulate audit strategy, testing results and corrective measures.
- Assist with the delivery and execution of IAD's broader audit plan and assurance responsibilities.
- Participate in quarterly and annual continuous monitoring / risk assessment process to identify business trends and changes in the business risk profile.
- Assist with special projects related to business process improvements or departmental strategic initiatives.
- Track and validate closure of issues raised by the department and regulators.
- Develop, promote, and maintain a collaborative and strong working relationship with key stakeholders.
- Assist with supervision of junior team members.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Risk, Finance, or Accounting function.
- Strong knowledge of global markets products including, fixed income, structured debt and derivatives trading businesses.
- Preferred prior experience related to product control/accounting/Financial Control function but not essential.
- Strong knowledge over asset pricing and valuation practices i.e., (IFRS 13, ASC 820 US GAAP) and accounting standards.
- Knowledge of audit techniques and standards, risks / controls assessments and solid risk impact assessment skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
- To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly resourceful with sense of detail and urgency, and ability to motivate others to deliver.
- Strong leadership skills; able to gain respect, and cooperation.
- Intermediate proficiency in excel and power point. Ability to organize data in visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, FRM, CIA a plus.
