POSITION PURPOSE
The Automation Analyst I will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining automation workflows and scripts to enhance business efficiency and improve operational processes. This role offers the opportunity to learn and develop technical skills, gain hands-on experience in automation technologies, and grow within the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Assist in the design and development of basic automation solutions to streamline business processes, using tools such as UiPath, Power Automate, and Python.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for automation processes, including process flow diagrams and technical notes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand automation requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct thorough testing of automation solutions, identify bugs, and implement fixes to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Monitor the performance of automation scripts and workflows to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous process and efficiency improvements.
- Provide ongoing support for deployed automation solutions, troubleshooting issues and ensuring continuity of operations.
- Analyze existing manual processes to identify areas for potential automation and recommend improvements.
- Assist in integrating automation workflows with enterprise systems and databases to ensure seamless data flow.
- Ensure that all automation solutions comply with security, data privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging automation technologies and participate in training sessions to develop technical skills.
- Attends and participates in all meetings, trainings and committees as required.
- Participates in community and civic events to promote awareness of the Credit Union in the community.
- Provides day-to-day oversight responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulatory laws as they relate to functions within their department.
- Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
- Completes other duties as assigned by management.
- Timely and accurate delivery of automation solutions within budget, and with high-quality results that meet or exceed business expectations.
- Successful deployment of automation solutions with minimal post-deployment issues, with measurable results in overall team member and member experience, leading to increased satisfaction and loyalty.
- Provide timely, accurate and actionable insights to key stakeholders across all departments that drive key business decisions and show organizational satisfaction and adoption of automation solutions.
- Meet or exceed the number of proposed and implemented automation process improvements as defined by leadership.
- Implement automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and enhance member service while delivering measurable cost savings.
- Complete Relevant certifications in automation or RPA tools (e.g., UiPath RPA Developer).

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages).
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Knowledge connecting automation solutions to APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
- 0-2 years of experience in automation, software development, or IT operations.
- Experience working independently and in a team environment.
- Experience with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) platforms.
- Familiarity with APIs, data integration, and enterprise application systems.
- Understanding of database structures and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

Skills and Requirements
5+ Years of experience as an Analyst or Sr. Analyst role
Write clear, efficient documentation for automation tools, scripts, and processes
Apply Six Sigma principles to identify and evaluate process improvement opportunities
Design, develop, and monitor business and technical automation workflows
Create innovative solutions for automation challenges during design, scripting, and maintenance
Build strong relationships and advocate for automation across teams
Implement testing best practices within the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Use software design patterns and frameworks to build scalable solutions
Present technical concepts and align stakeholders across disciplines
Gather and define project requirements through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Lead automation projects and mentor others within the automation community
Develop project plans, manage dependencies, and drive toward milestones
Stay informed on industry trends and internal capabilities in automation
Use scripting languages and GitHub for process execution and version control
Demonstrate deep expertise in one or more automation domains
Understand contracting processes and system architecture
Make independent decisions and manage goals with minimal guidance
Identify and apply use cases for AI and machine learning in automation
Recommend and implement improvements to automation frameworks and processes
