**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Automation Technician to support our growing automation operations. This role combines responsibilities of a service technician, maintenance technician, and analysis technician. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automation systems, a strong technical background, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain and repair computer-controlled systems and robotic devices in industrial and commercial settings.
+ Provide immediate response to equipment malfunctions and escalate unresolved issues to management and engineering teams.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance and diagnostics as outlined in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) documentation.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose automation control systems using schematics, diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
+ Install, configure, and commission new robotic systems and production equipment, including hardware upgrades.
+ Execute automation programming tasks and support software adjustments in collaboration with engineering.
+ Record and analyze data related to root cause analysis, corrective actions, and maintenance activities.
+ Monitor and support process improvements and assist engineering teams with process changes.
+ Communicate effectively with production, quality, engineering, and management teams.
+ Support machine configuration, fixture setups, and adjustments for operators.
+ Ensure compliance with safety procedures, training, and EHS standards.

**Required Qualifications:**
**Experience:**
+ 2-4 years in a related industrial automation or technician role.
**Education:**
+ Associate's Degree in Automation Technology, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
**Technical Skills:**
+ Strong understanding of electronics, mechanics, computers, and automated systems.
+ Experience with automation software and control systems.
+ Familiarity with motion sensors, control components, pneumatic devices, and photosensors.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted and 50 lbs assisted.

Performs skilled work in the installation, rehabilitation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of various low voltage electrical (under 600V) equipment to include motor control centers, motor controllers, power distribution equipment, machinery, power appliances, or other electrical components and electronic devices and equipment, such as variable frequency drives (VFD), solid state reduced voltage starters, transformers, relays and relay logic, industrial communications equipment and systems, process control instrumentation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote telemetry units (RTUs), and other related electrical and electronic equipment within wastewater facilities. Serves as a technical advisor for industrial automation and electrical systems design and alterations. Tests faulty equipment and applies knowledge of electrical or electronic theory and practice to diagnose cause. Replaces defective components and tests, aligns, and calibrates equipment to specifications. Work is performed under general supervision and is subject to review while in progress. Some positions may require work rotating stand-by shifts. Minimum Qualifications:
Six (6) years of industrial electrical/instrumentation experience in installation and maintenance; or Graduation from a technical vocational program and Four (4) years of relevant experience; or State certified as a Journeyman Electrician. This pivotal role requires an individual with extensive expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing complex automated systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment. You will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, ensuring the smooth operation of all automated machinery, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, coupled with proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, and robotics. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex issues with automated production equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, robots, and conveyor systems.

Proficiency in Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, or similar PLC platforms is a must. Experience with robotic programming (e.g., FANUC, KUKA) and HMI software (e.g., FactoryTalk View, WinCC) is highly desirable. Strong understanding of electrical systems, motor controls, and instrumentation. Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
