**Qualifications**

Performs non-complex maintenance, repair and modification functions under the direct supervision of the team Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Automotive Worker on common equipment; basic structural repair and fabrication of small assemblies; and the removal and installation of access panels, components and accessories.

Perform SE maintenance processes per the maintenance support requirements. Enters documentation of maintenance in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs).
DUTIES
• The AWSE shall have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in:
a. General knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) requirements.
b. NALCOMIS & VIDMAFs completion.
• The AWSE shall have I Level SE Tire and Wheel certification with 2 years experience.
• The AWSE shall have two (2) years automotive repair experience (exclusive of training) and completed a two (2) year formal resident automotive repair course of study at an accredited technical school, or have equivalent military experience and training (i.e., Minimum of two (2) years in the last eight (8) years automotive maintenance experience at an I level aviation support equipment repairs) to the level of effort and complexity of the requirements of this SOW. Examples of acceptable experience: Navy Aviation Support Equipment Technician (AS) enlisted (E-4 through E-6). Graduate from Navy AS A or C schools or other military service equivalent.

**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Places and maintains decals on vehicles, checks and replaces batteries, rotates, repairs, and replaces tires, washes, polishes, and cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles, drains, flushes, and replaces engine, transmission, and differential grease and oils, checks, cleans, calibrates, and replaces spark plugs, cleans and replaces oil and air filters.
+ Adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers, and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replacing thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas.
+ Performs all work in accordance to the applicable Technical Manual for the vehicle and work assigned.
+ Must be able recognize and know proper usage of a variety of automotive tools.
+ Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ One or more years' experience and specific knowledge in vehicle maintenance either through schooling or verifiable on the job experience.
+ Must have or be able to obtain site forklift and other licenses/certifications.
+ Must have a valid and current state driver's license.
+ Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals.
+ Must be able to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
+ Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment
+ Ability to work in a team environment
**Preferred Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:**
+ Maintenance and repair of military tactical vehicles, as well as lawn mower (push, riding, zero turn), ATV, side by side, HMMWV, light wheeled trailers
+ ASE and/or Diesel Mechanic Certifications
+ Experience in field repairs and recovery
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
+ Must utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices.
+ Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
+ Must be able to work at heights.
+ Must be able to climb in and out of vehicles of various sizes and heights
+ Must be able to work under pressure and strenuous conditions.
