We are looking for students in the machine learning space who are interested in solving the hardest problems in the development and productization of automated driving with us.

We are looking for an accomplished student in the ML space with strong technical skills to work with us on the design, implementation, training and roll-out the next generation of AI-enabled robotics test system, a core component of the realization of self-driving vehicles. As an intern on the team, you will be working on all important aspects of the implementation to enable our R&D teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement and roll-out important aspects of our state-of-the-art robotics test framework, enabling the execution of sophisticated test campaigns on various hardware setups

  • Define and execute the integration of AI features for test management and execution

  • Work on data pipelines, model training and validation, and performance evaluation

  • Support the integration and testing of our framework, as well as its continuous operation in production

  • Continuously drive innovation by bringing the latest developments in academia to the table and evaluate them as potential candidate for the next version

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursing a Bachelor's, Masters, or PhD degree in CS, CE, E/E or comparable related to ML/AI

  • Hands-on experience with Pytorch for model development, training and testing in a Linux environment

**Job Description**
As The Head of Technology and Development for ADAS in North America, you will lead the technical vision, strategy, and execution for our global advanced driver assistance systems development and deployment. This includes driving innovation, overseeing a high-performing engineering team, and collaborating closely with global counterparts to deliver cutting-edge L2+ and L3 ADAS solutions. While your primary focus is on the overall functional ADAS technology roadmap, you will also play a crucial role in defining the ADAS development and delivery ecosystem that enables our success. This involves defining, delivering and managing a global, multi-project capable data-driven platform for training, testing, and deploying AI models focused ADAS systems to our customers. 
Responsibilities
+ **Lead ADAS Technology Strategy:** Define and execute the North American ADAS technology roadmap, aligned with global Bosch strategy and customer needs. This includes ownership of the architectural vision, technology selection, and development processes.
+ **Drive Innovation:** Foster a culture of innovation and explore emerging technologies to maintain Bosch's leadership in the ADAS space. Identify and evaluate new concepts, algorithms, and hardware to enhance our ADAS offerings.
+ **Build and Manage High-Performing Teams:** Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of highly skilled engineers, fostering collaboration and individual growth. This includes resource allocation, performance management, and talent acquisition.
+ **Global Collaboration:** Work closely with global ADAS teams, including engineering, product management, and research, to ensure alignment and leverage synergies across regions.
+ **AI Development Ecosystem Ownership:**
+ Build and lead a global team of key stakeholders & contributors to define the data lifecycle and business processes for continuously developing and deploying ML-based ADAS systems globally
+ Oversee the design and evolution of the ADAS system delivery ecosystem, encompassing data acquisition, processing, model training, testing, validation, and deployment.
+ Ensure seamless integration of AI models into the broader ADAS software architecture and contribute to the overall platform strategy.
+ Champion and implement modern software development and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Agile, Domain and Data Driven Design) within the continuous multi-customer development lifecycle.
+ Stay abreast of emerging trends in AI/ML and adapt the ecosystem accordingly.
+ **Customer Engagement & Partnerships** : Build and maintain relationships with key customers and partners in the automotive industry to understand their needs and shape future product development.
**Qualifications**
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
+ Last 5 years of proven track record leading complex software projects from concept to production in the ADAS domain.
+ Deep understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
+ Experience with data lifecycle management, including data acquisition, processing, and storage.
+ Proficient in C++, Python, and other relevant programming languages.
+ Experience with ADAS system architecture and development, specifically for L2+ and L3 autonomy.
+ Strong leadership skills and experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
+ Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on embedded systems, automotive, or robotics. Significant experience in data-driven software development, including ML/AI.
+ Proven leadership skills of large heterogeneous and global project teams including engineers, product and project managers as well as financial staff, e.g. controlling.
+ Comfortable in interacting with C-Suite management to develop overall vision and its implementation
+ Knowledge regarding the technology enabling automated driving and the automotive industry in general.
+ Able to quickly adapt to new business challenges and translate them into new cloud based architecture solutions catering to a global multi-customer landscape.
**Additional Information**
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $290,000 - $450,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. This range does not include annual bonus percentage nor any other monetary considerations for the total compensation package. Originating from the AI research in Silicon Valley, our Intelligent Autonomous Systems group is responsible for enabling future autonomous Bosch products by developing cutting-edge technologies and prototype systems in the fields of autonomous driving, automation and robotics. These include methods for 3D Perception, knowledge distillation, multimodal learning, and motion prediction/planning as well as systems for making these technologies work on real products by building frameworks that take advantage of technologies in the field of reliable distributed computing. We work with internal partners of different Bosch business units to transfer our solutions into future products. We also actively collaborate with leading groups in academia and industry to promote research ideas and publish research findings in internationally renowned conferences and journals such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, ICLR, and NeurIPS.

Job Description

In this internship, some responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct advanced research and engineering in multimodal LLMs, 3D perception, knowledge distillation, and diffusion models to address challenges in autonomous systems.

  • Apply research results to real-world applications with high quality implementation

  • Integrate the resulting system/software into existing Bosch platform

  • Summarize research findings in high-quality paper and/or patent submissions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Ph.D. student in Computer Science or related fields

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Hands-on experience on developing computer vision and machine learning algorithms with focus on at least two of the following areas: multimodal foundation models, diffusion models, reinforcement learning detection/segmentation, 3D scene understanding, autonomous driving, and sensor fusion.

  • Solid Python skills and proficient with libraries such as MMCV, and PyTorch.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publication record in top venues including CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, ICLR, and NeurIPS.

  • Familiar with SOTA vision and learning methods of multimodal LLMs, diffusion models, Diffusion Models, knowledge distillation, and so on.

  • Able to work independently, has strong research and problem-solving skills

  • Strong background in math and statistics is a plus.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
